The function is to cut and engrave material with a laser diode. The device is controlled via a WiFi interface by the consumers WiFi connected device via a web interface. The radio incorporated in the product is a Realtek RTL8723DS-CG SoC with a Single stamped metal antenna Abracon PRO-OB-440. The radio can operate in the following modes Bluetooth Classic (BT FHSS), Bluetooth Low Energy (BT LE) and WLAN 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11bgn). Only one radio is active at any time as the radio shares the same antenna. The BT LE radio is used to communicate with an air filter accessory product. If there are several layers in the PCB, there is an advantage to add vias for smooth interconnection of the ground areas to avoid splits in the ground plane. It is also important that there is a ground clearance around the NC pads and the RF feed pad, through all layers of the PCB. It is recommended to implement a matching network to optimize the antenna impedance in your application. The components can be positioned under the antenna. See recommendations in the figures below.
