Users Manual

Product Appearance Description Note Key1~9 During the performance (left hand on top and right hand on bottom), fingers touch each key separately, and the desired note can be achieved by touching the key according to the fingering (refer to the fingering chart). Note Key 2 (Semicircle key) This note key 2 (semicircle key) is a flat key at any time except when the note key 1 and the note key 3 are pressed at the same time. Users can turn it off in the settings menu if they are not used to it. Chord Keys The EWI-S2 has a major third and major fifth chord function. When the user touches this key during the performance, the desired major third or major fifth chord will be played. Up/Down Semitone Keys Pressing this key during performance will raise/lower a semitone. Vibrato Key When playing, touch this key to produce a vibrato effect. The depth and rate of the vibrato can be set according to your own requirements in the settings. Switch Key +/- The +/- two keys are the sounds selection keys, each short press will increase or decrease to change a sound, and long press will quickly increase or decrease. In the MIDI output mode, it is used as a MIDI channel switch, and when using the user sound bank, it is used as a quick switch sound key. Encoder This encoder is a multi-function setting knob button. Rotate this knob alone in the playing state to switch timbres, hold down the octave center 0 button and rotate this knob to transpose. In the playing state, press and hold for three seconds to enter the setting interface of various parameters. Rotate this knob to select setting items. Press and hold the octave center button and click this button to return to the previous step. Octave Keys The EWI-S2 is designed with a total of seven octaves. When playing, the left thumb presses the center button for a center octave, presses the +1 button for one octave higher, and simultaneously presses the +1 button and +2 button for two octaves higher. Pressing +2 alone is three octaves higher, pressing -1 down is one octave lower, pressing -1 and -2 is two octaves lower, and pressing -2 alone is three octaves lower. Portamento Key Press this key during performance to produce a portamento effect Skill Key Touching this Key with your right thumb during performance will change the Voice to another technique Voice of the currently playing Voice (Instrument). For example: when playing the pipa sound, touching this button will play the pipa wheel finger sound. When playing suona and bamboo flute sounds, touch this button to play suona and bamboo flute tongue sounds. Touching this key while playing a saxophone sound will produce a saxophone growling sound. Pitch Bend Key Touching this Key during performance will play a pitch bend effect. Nozzle The nozzle of EWI-S2 can be unplugged from the blowpipe as a whole for easy cleaning and replacement. OLED Display Displays current performance status information and details of encoding settings. Strap Hole The EWI-S2 is equipped with a neck strap, which is convenient for standing and mobile playing. Thumb Rest The thumb rest is ergonomically designed for easy grip and balance. Sounds Bank Upgrade Interface This instrument supports sounds upgrades. When upgrading, please insert the corresponding end of the upgrade cable firmly into this hole, and insert the other end into the USB jack of the computer used for upgrading. When there is a new sounds firmware, we release it on the official website. Battery Uses 1x18650 rechargeable battery. Working Status Indicator It is a working status indicator light, which lights up under normal working status, and turns off when the power switch is turned off. Charging Indicator It is the charging indicator light, which shows red in the charging state.It turns blue when fully charged. Audio Output Jack This jack is a standard 6.35mm stereo audio output jack. Use a 6.35mm stereo plug cable to connect audio equipment while you play. MIDI DIN Output This jack is a standard MIDI 5-pin output jack, you can use this jack to connect other MIDI devices with a MIDI 5-pin cable to perform. USB MIDI/Charging Jack You can charge the instrument through this jack,also as a firmware upgrade and USB-MIDI output. Power Switch This button is the power switch of the instrument. Press it up and down to switch it. Built-in Speaker The instrument has built-in speakers, allowing you to play solo without an external amplifier. To qualify for SAR test exclusion, the test separation distances applied must be fully explained and justified by the operating configurations and exposure conditions of the transmitter and applicable host platform requirements, typically in the SAR measurement or SAR analysis report, according to the required published RF exposure KDB procedures. When no other RF exposure testing or reporting is required, a statement of justification and compliance must be included in the equipment approval, in lieu of the SAR report, to qualify for the SAR test exclusion.
