Users Manual

KSWKP Wireless Keypad #60575312 1-800-378-1001 for Technical Support • Install Wireless Keypad within sight of the garage door, out of reach of children at a minimum height of 5 feet (1.5m) and away from ALL moving parts of garage door. • Always keep remote controls out of reach of children. NEVER permit children to operate or play with remote controls. • Activate garage door ONLY when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted, and there are no obstructions to door travel. • ALWAYS keep garage door in sight until completely closed. NEVER permit anyone to cross path of moving garage door. WARNING TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH FROM A MOVING RESIDENTIAL GARAGE DOOR: This product can expose you to chemicals which are known in the State of California information, go to www.P65warnings.ca.gov. DESCRIPTION This 315MHz wireless keypad is designed for use with Kwikset residential smart garage door operators. The wireless keypad allows users to open and close up to four garage doors by means of user-defined sequences of numerical keys (codes). The length (number of digits) of a code can be unique for each garage door and range from 1 to 8 digits. FEATURES A keypad backlight turns on when any key is pressed for increased visibility and stays on for 5 seconds after the last key release or for 20 seconds after garage door activation from the keypad. A dual color GREEN and RED LED on the keypad signals correct and incorrect programming, respectively. KEYPAD 9V BATTERY (INSIDE KEYPAD) INSIDE KEYPAD: MOUNTING SCREWS x 2 SCREW ANCHORS x 2 1. Remove the small screw at the bottom of the keypad. 2. Separate the back mounting plate from the keypad. 3. Use the fasteners and anchors found inside the keypad to mount the keypad in your desired location no less than 5 ft (1.5m) off the ground. 4. Connect 9V battery found inside the keypad. 5. Snap keypad on mounting plate and fasten small bottom screw to secure keypad to mounting plate. INSTALLATION OPERATION Users enter a unique code on the keypad and press the ENTER () button. A radio signal is sent to the garage door opener and activates the corresponding garage door. For up to 20 seconds after the last keypad activation, user can stop and reverse the direction of the garage door quickly without having to re-enter the keypad code by pressing the ENTER button two times. SETTING KEYPAD CODES The keypad has no assigned codes from the manufacturer. Up to four codes for up to 4 garage doors, with length of 1 to 8 digits, can be activated. The available code locations are assigned in sequence. Once the four code locations have been assigned, trying to define a further code causes the RED LED to turn ON for 1 second, and the action is terminated with code changes. ACTION ACTION KEYPAD SEQUENCE & LIGHT DISPLAY KEYPAD SEQUENCE & LIGHT DISPLAY Create code for garage door Delete code for a garage door 2 Open/close garage door Incorrect code entered 3 Reverse direction of garage door Cancel code entered into keypad Factory Reset 4 Press unique 1-8 digits with less than a 5 second pause between each digit 1 , then press ENTER () for 3 seconds. Green LED will display for 2 seconds to confirm activated code. Press unique digits for code to be deleted, then press ENTER () for 5 seconds. Green LED will display for 2 seconds to confirm deleted code. Press unique digits for specific door, then press ENTER (). Green LED will display for 2 seconds and door will move. After pressing code for specific door and pressing ENTER (), Red LED will display for 2 seconds and door will not move. For up to 20 seconds after keypad activation, press ENTER () two times. Green LED will display for 2 seconds and door will stop and move in reverse direction. Press the “0” button on the keypad and hold for 3 seconds. Green LED will display for 1 second to confirm cancellation of code entry. Simultaneously press three buttons “1” “3” “8” on the keypad and hold for 3 seconds. Red LED will display for 10 second to confirm factory reset. 1 Pressed digit sequence is ignored if pause between entries is more than 5 seconds. Any incomplete key sequence is aborted after 10 seconds of inactivity, returning to stand-by condition. OTHER OPERATIONS The basic operational key sequences are indicated in the following table: Consult your local garage door installer for service. 2 The code must be active to be deleted. When deleted, the corresponding code location is freed and becomes available again for a new code. 3 Entering an incorrect code 10 consecutive times blocks the keypad for 2 minutes. 4 Factory reset erases all stored user codes. NOTE: The keypad will block all signals for 2 minutes when 25 numeric keypad presses occur with no more than 5 seconds between consecutive numeric presses. On the wall station display, press the ENTER button to get the main Frequent Use menu. 2. The wall station will display the Frequent Use FV code. Press ENTER. 3. Press the UP or DOWN button to move the display to the Radio Operations RO code. Press ENTER. 4. Press the UP or DOWN button to move the display to the Erase ER code. Press ENTER. 5. Press the code on the keypad that you want to delete. 6. Wall station will display OK when keypad code is deleted. Kwikset app on your smartphone will also confirm keypad code is removed. Wall station display Wall station display PROGRAMMING KEYPAD CODE TO OPENER Keypad codes can be added from the wall station and via the Kwikset app on your smartphone. 1. On the wall station display, press the ENTER button and hold for 2 seconds. 2. The wall station will display a SR code. 3. Press ENTER again, SR will begin flashing. 4.
