It is a flexible and scalable platform that you can configure to operate in various care areas of the hospital. In high acuity environments, such as the ICU, the Capsule Neuron 2 typically runs Capsule’s Status Application to enable continuous collection of vital signs for one patient from multiple devices. In low acuity, non-critical care settings (such as med-surg), the Capsule Neuron 2 typically runs Capsule's Mobile Vitals Plus Application to enable the automatic collection, validation, and transmission of vital signs from multiple patients to the EMR directly from the point of care. Note:Do not operate the Capsule Neuron 2 until after you read and understand these instructions. Pay particular attention to all warnings and cautions. Note:For information about the administration of DataCaptor software, IT personnel should refer to the DataCaptor System Administrator’s Guide. Note:To operate the Capsule Neuron 2, clinicians require training in the procedures described in the Capsule Neuron Status Application Clinical User’s Guide and the Capsule Neuron Mobile Vitals Plus Application Clinical User’s Guide. Note:To operate any medical device that connects to the Capsule Neuron, clinicians must be separately trained in the use of that device. Intended Use The intended use of the DataCaptor™ system is for data collection and clinical information management, either directly or through networks with independent bedside devices. Capsule's hardware and software are not intended for monitoring purposes, nor is the software intended to control any of the clinical devices (independent bedside devices/information systems) to which it is connected. There is no other known contraindication for the use of the Capsule Neuron 2 system. Caution:Do not modify the Capsule Neuron 2, cables, or any part of the DataCaptor Connectivity software, or mount the device in any way other than instructed in Capsule documents. Any modification to the hardware or software can prevent proper …

Operational Description

FCC ID: 2AA69001 Report No.: RF130923D14/-1/-2/-3 Operational Description This device is an IPC with built-in a WLAN IEEE802.11a/b/g/n module and RFID module. For WLAN IEEE802.11a/b/g/n card: The device is including a WLAN module. The WLAN module is power by host equipment (IPC). The type of the antenna is PCB antenna. Under normal use condition, the user has to keep at least 20cm separation distance between radiator and the body of the user. The WLAN card is operates in both of the 5GHz (OFDM technique) and 2.4GHz (DSSS and OFDM technique) bands. The EUT operates in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum with throughput of up to 300Mbps. The EUT incorporates a MIMO function. Physically, the card provides two completed transmitters and two receivers. For the 802.11n, the EUT is 2 * 2 spatial MIMO (2Tx & 2Rx) without beam forming function. When the EUT operating in 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11a, the software operation, which is defined by manufacturer, only set single Tx. The EUT complies with draft 802.11n standards and backwards compatible with 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11a products. FCC 15.407(c) states: The device shall automatically discontinue transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or operational failure. These provisions are not intended to preclude the transmission of control or signaling information or the use of repetitive codes used by certain digital technologies to complete frame or burst intervals. Applicants shall include in their application for equipment authorization a description of hoe this requirement is met. Data transmission is always initiated by software, which is then pass down through the MAC, through the digital and analog baseband, and finally to the RF chip. Several special packets (ACKs, CTS, PSPoll, etc...) are initiated by the MAC. There are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on only while one of the aforementioned packets are being transmitted. FCC ID: 2AA69001 Report No.: RF130923D14/-1/-2/-3 For RFID Module: The transmitter of the EUT (IPC) is powered by 3.3Vdc from host equipment. The type of antenna is PCB antenna. The output power of this device is very low. Under normal use condition, the transmitter and the receiver are quite close, so high EIRP power is neither necessary nor allowed because of interference.
