Outdoor Use and Care Though Explorer FX is water-resistant an d able to tolerate splashing water, please review the tips below to get the best perfor mance from Explorer FX: • Explorer FX must only be used outdoors with power outlets or ex tension cords that are rated for outdoor use. Please do not connect the power cable t o Explorer FX in a wet environment. Make su re the power input, power cable, and power outlet are all completely dry before making any connections. • Please do not place Explorer FX in standing water, and bring Explor er FX indoors during extreme weather. Rechargeable Batteries • Fully charge the battery prior to first use. • Charge the battery completely af ter each use. It is acceptable to leave Explorer FX plugged in; this will not overcharge the battery. Explorer FX does not need to be powered on to charge the battery. • The battery icon blinking on the Display means that the battery is ch arging. When fully charged, all segments of the battery icon will be lit without blinking. When the power cable is disconn ected, the battery icon shows th e current level of the battery. • For best product longevity, do not store at exceedingly hot (greater than 90°F/32°C) or exceedi ngly cold (less than 32°F/0°C) t emperatures. If you leave the battery level low and do not charge it for 6 months, it may permanently lose capacity. Features 1. Power Button: This button turns Explorer FX on or off. 2. Bluetooth Button: Press and release the Bluetoot h button to pair to a Bluetooth device or disconnect a paired Bluetooth device. See below to learn more. 3. Light Mode Button: Press this button to cycle th rough the three different light modes for Explorer FX's multicolored butto n LEDs, or to turn the lights off. 4. Link: Press and hold this button to start st ereo linking to an other Explorer FX speaker. Once the link ha s been established, LINK should appear on the Display . Select which unit will be the primary speaker by pressing and releasing its Bluetooth button . Use this speaker for pairing with a Blue tooth device or select ing a radio station. The primary speaker will play left channel audio, and the secondary speaker will play right channel audio. To disconnect the link between the two s peakers, double-press the Link button . 5. Radio Selector: This button sets the radio to FM , AM, or turns the radio off. 6. Tune/Track Buttons: Press and release thes e buttons to tune in a radio station or go to the previous/next track on a Bluetooth connected dev ice. To “seek” (jump to the next available radio st ation), hold eith er button down fo r a few seconds. 7. Play/Pause / Preset: Press to play or pause a track from a connected Bluetooth device. In Radio Mode, press and release this bu tton to select a previously saved preset station. To save the current station as a preset, press an d hold this button, use the Tune/Track buttons to select which preset you want to save it to, and press this button again to confirm. 8. Display: This screen shows information relevant to Explorer FX’s current operation. See the full User Guide to learn more. 9. Volume Control: Press this knob to toggle between controlling the music volume and controlling the microphone volume. Turn the knob to increas e or decrease the volume. 10. Microphone Input: Connect a microphone to this 1/4” (6.35 mm) mono input. 11. Auxiliary Input: This stereo 1/8” (3.5 mm) input can be used to connect a CD player, MP3 player, or other audio source. 12. USB Charging Port: Connect your device’s ch arge cable here to charge it. USB charging only functions when the unit ’s power is turned on. 13. Touch FX: Press this button to cycle between the FX modes for the pads. See below to learn more. 14. Pads: Press these pads to trigger different sound samp les, depending on the setting of the Touch FX button. 15. Boom Button: Press this button to simultaneously enhan ce the bass EQ and volume an d activate a light show that pu lses to the beat of the mu sic. Pairing with a Bluetooth Device 1. Make sure the speaker is within range of your Blueto oth device (no more than 100 ft. / 30.5 m away). 2. Press and release the Bluetooth button on the speaker. 3. Navigate to your Bluetooth device’s setup screen. Then find and select Explorer FX . If your Bluetooth device prom pts for a pairing code, enter 0000 . Note: If you have previously connected to your Bluetooth device, Explorer FX will reconnect automatically. Tip: Double-press the Bluetooth button to enable or disabl e the Bluetooth pairi ng voice prompts. To disconnect a paired Bluetooth device, press and release the Bluetooth button. Using Touch FX Press the Touch FX button to toggle between the five different FX modes, each with eight different fun sounds: Drum , DJ , Sport , Speech and Fun . Tap the pads to trigger each sound effect. Use the Drum and DJ effects to enhance your dance party, the Sport effects to fire up the crowd at the game, punctuate a toast with the Speech effects, or have a blast with the Fun effects. App Control IMPORTANT: To ensure the best possible experienc e with the app, use the mo st current Andr oid OS or iOS on your device. Note: Ensure that your device has in ternet access via your service pr ovider or wireless co nnection.
