1 Safety and Regulatory Information CQF1UM0TBAAA CJB1UM0TBAAA Quick Start Guide BC 2 Safety and Use We recommend that you read this chapter carefully before using your mobile device. The manufacturer disclaims any liability for damage, which may result as a consequence of improper use or use contrary to the instructions contained herein. Use of connected devices subject to T-Mobile’s Terms and Conditions. Traffic Safety Always obey the local laws and regulations addressing the use of wireless mobile devices and their accessories in the areas where you drive. The use of mobile devices while driving may be prohibited or restricted in certain areas. Conditions of Use You are advised to switch off your mobile device from time to time to optimize its performance. Operational Warnings: Only use your mobile device in accordance with local laws and regulations and obey all posted notices in public areas. Do not attempt to disassemble your mobile device. If you disassemble your mobile device, the warranty will not apply. Always handle your mobile device with care and keep it in a clean and dust-free place. Do not allow your mobile device to be exposed to adverse weather or environmental conditions (moisture, humidity, rain, infiltration of liquids, dust, sea air, etc.). To view the regulatory information (such as FCC ID) for this device, on the device, swipe up from the home screen, then tap Settings > About tablet > Regulatory & safety. FCC Compliance Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance of this device voids the user's authority to operate this device. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. The RF exposure limits set by the FCC for wireless mobile devices utilize a unit of measurement referred to as Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is a measure of the amount of RF energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile device. The FCC requires mobile device manufacturers to ensure that their mobile devices comply with these objective limits for safe exposure. The FCC SAR limit incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give additional protection to the public and to account for any variations in measurements. The FCC limit for public exposure from cellular devices is a SAR level of 16 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg). CJB1UM0TBAAA Quick Start Guide 1 At a glance Let’s get started. We’ll guide you through startup and tell you where to find more information about your tablet and its great features. SIM and microSD TM tray Volume keys Power key Speaker Front camera USB Type-C Microphone Headset connector IR sensor 2 Set up your SIM card The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card identifies your device to the wireless network. You don't need to power off your device before inserting or removing the SIM card. Note: Your device only supports Nano SIM cards. To avoid damage to your device, do not attempt to insert any other SIM types. Insert the SIM pin that’s provided to eject the SIM tray and then slide it out gently. Place or remove the Nano SIM card and the microSD TM card in the correct slot as shown. SIM SD SIM SD Note: SIM pin is included in the box. microSD TM cards are sold separately. 3 Battery To optimize battery performance, be sure to fully charge your device before using it for the first time. Charging the device 1. Insert the USB Type-C cable into the charge port as shown. 2. Connect charger to power outlet. Note: Please use the charger and USB Type-C cable that came with your device. Using the wrong cable and charger may damage the charging port or reduce battery performance. Optimize Battery Life To optimize battery life, adjust your screen brightness and display timeout. 1. Adjusting brightness level: Lowering your screen brightness level can optimize your battery level. To adjust the brightness level, Swipe up from the Home screen, touch Settings > Display > Brightness level. To lower the brightness level, move the wheel to the left. 2. Power saving mode: Power saving mode minimizes 4 battery usage to extend battery life. To explore power management options, Swipe up from the Home screen touch Settings > Battery > Battery Saver. Then touch TURN ON NOW to activate power saving mode. 3 Adjust screen timeout: Sleep mode is low power mode function and it significantly saves your battery power. Lower the amount of time your device stays on after you stop using it to optimize your battery level. To do so, Swipe up from the Home screen, touch Settings > Display > Advanced > Screen timeout and select screen timeout duration. Security & convenience To secure your tablet from being used by others without your permission, activate the following security options: Screen lock: Swipe up from the Home screen and touch Settings > Security > Screen lock. 5 Useful apps When you’re up and running, try these apps to see what you can do with your new tablet. Find it: Swipe up from the home screen to see all your apps. Camera Your tablet is equipped with a camera and a camcorder for taking photos and shooting videos. Chrome Using the Chrome browser, you can enjoy surfing the Web. Gmail With Gmail, you can send and receive emails, manage emails by labels, archive them, etc. Messaging (1) You can create, edit, and receive SMS and MMS with this tablet. Play Store In Play Store, search for the app you need, download it and then follow the installation guide to install the app. Settings To access this function, swipe up from the Home screen and then touch Settings. Note: Software updates happen frequently, so your tablet may not have all the listed apps or features. (1) The app may differ depending on your carrier 6 Approved firmware versions This device will only operate with firmware versions that have been approved for use by your wireless carrier and the device manufacturer. If unauthorized firmware is placed on the device it will not function. Information about safeguarding handsets We encourage customers to take appropriate measures to secure their devices and invites them to take advantage of the features available on this device to help secure it from theft and/or other unauthorized access and use. This device has a locking function (e.g., Security PINs) that can serve as a first line of defense against unauthorized use or access to stored information. Preloaded security applications that allow customers to track or locate misplaced devices can be found on several devices. Lost or stolen devices should be immediately reported to your wireless carrier so that proper measures can be taken to protect accounts. Page 237 of 243 ANNEX I Sensor Triggering Data Summary Per FCC KDB Publication 616217 D04v01r02, this device was tested by the manufacturer to determine the proximity sensor triggering distances for the rear, left edge, right edge and bottom edge of the device. The measured output power within ±5mm of the triggering points (or until touching the phantom) is included for rear and each applicable edge. To ensure all production units are compliant it is necessary to test SAR at a distance 1mm less than the smallest distance from the device and SAR phantom with the device at maximum output power without power reduction. We tested the power or state and got the different proximity sensor triggering distances for rear, left, right and top edge. The manufacturer has declared 16mm is the most conservative triggering distance for main antenna with rear. The 13mm distance for top edge. The 11mm distance for right edge. So base on the most conservative triggering distance of 16 /13 / 11mm, additional SAR measurements were required at 15mm from the highest SAR position for rear of main antenna, and at 12mm for top edge,10mm for right edge. Sincerely, the most conservative triggering distance for WIFI antenna is 16mm with rear and 13mm with top edge and 9mm with left edge. So we also test SAR measurements with 15mm at rear, and 13mm at top,8mm at left edge.
