Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Switch Model: EMW770 USER MANUAL INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing our product Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Switch EMW770. It supports any iOS devices with Bluetooth 4.0 equipped and Android device with OS 4.3 or above. We strongly recommend to read this User Manual before you operate the product. EMW770 is a Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Switch which can seamlessly control and monitor your energy usage of the lighting xtures and electric appliances connected. With the App provided, user can monitor the energy usage and control at desired condition. User can program the switch to turn on/ o at desired time schedule. 13 4567 ENGLISH ABOUT CONTROL SMART SWITCH Ratings : 120 VAC, max 15A 1800W Wireless Standard : Bluetooth 4.0 Frequency Range : 2402 – 2480 MHz Operation Range : up to 30 meters SPECIFICATIONS COUNTDOWN TIMER OVERLOAD WARNING GETTING STARTED BOX CONTENTS Your Control Smart Switch will contain: 1) Smart Switch main unit 2) Face plate with screws 3) Wire nuts (3) 4) Mount Screws (2) 5) This user manual 6) Quick start guide 2 1 2 LED INDICATOR LED Colour Status No LED on Output OFF and idle Blue LED blink Countdown timer running Blue LED on Output ON and idle Red LED blink Overload warning Red LED on Pairing in progress REMOTE CONTROL User can turn the output of smart socket to ON/ OFF with the App. To obtain better performance, user must ensure that the smart socket is located within the coverage of Bluetooth signal with your smartphone or tablet. The receiving distance will be aected by obstacles and building materials. It is recommended to place the smart socket away from TV set, computer, wireless router or any radio frequency apparatus. To save energy cost, user need an energy monitor to tell you how much energy is consuming by your electrical appliance. This smart socket has built-in non-volatile memory which can record the energy consumption of the electrical appliances. With the tari rate setting, the energy cost can be calculated automatically. User can analysis the energy consumption of their appliance with graphical view. This smart socket can set an overload warning with the App. When the connected appliance exceed the overload settings (Wattage or Current), the device will give an overload alert by ashing Red LED or beep sound or cut the power to the appliance. The alert method can be set by the App via smartphone or tablet. SCHEDULE TIMER This smart socket can be programmed with timer by the App which can turn the appliance ON/ O at desired time. The benets of setting the schedule timer with the App is more convenient and easier with the intuitive user interface. 11) Do not subject the equipment to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, humidity or dampness. 12) Do not subject the equipment to shocks or strong vibrations. 13) Do not operate the equipment near strong magnetic elds (motors , transformers etc.) 14) Do not store the smart socket in a place of explosive, inammable substances. 15) Do not modify the equipment in any way 16) The guarantee become invalid in the event of damage resulting from non-observance or improper use of the operation manual. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS To ensure safe operation of the equipment and eliminate the danger of serious injury due to short-circuits, the following safety precautions must be observed. 1) Do not connect after each other 2) Use indoor only. 3) Keep children and pets away. 4) Inspect periodically. 5) The unauthorized rebuilding and/or modifying of the device is not permitted. 6) If you are not sure about the operation, safety or the connection of the device, contact an expert. 7) Opening the equipment, service and repair work must only be carried out by a trained person who is familiar with the relevant regulations. 8) To avoid any hazard or misuse, please use this product only as described in user manual. 9) Do not operate this product in wet or damp conditions, to avoid electric shock. 10) Comply with the warning labels and other information on the equipment. User can set a countdown timer to turn the appliance ON/ OFF with the App. When the countdown timer elapsed, the output of the smart socket will be turned OFF. This smart socket has equipped with LED indicator to indicate the device status (see below). 1) White - Neutral 2) Green - Earth 3) Red - Line Out 4) Black - Line In MANUAL ON/ OFF User can turn the output of smart socket to ON/ OFF manually by pressing the On/ O button on the device. The status of the output will be shown in the App on your smartphone or tablet automatically. Installation: 1. Turn power OFF at Circuit Breaker. 2. Remove the cover plate and replace the existing wall switch with Smart Switch as above wiring connection. 3. Attach the switch cover plate. 4. Turn power ON at Circuit Breaker. 5. To conrm the unit is working. Press the Manual On/ O button and the LED indicator (Blue colour) will blink with the key press. Operational Description

Technical Description The Equipment Under Test (EUT) is a Bluetooth Smart Switch. The EUT is using direct sequence spread spectrum for Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth can support Bluetooth 4.0 BLE only. The Bluetooth portion operates in frequency range from 2402MHz to 2480MHz. The EUT is powered by AC Mains (120VAC 15A 1800W max). Module: Modulation Type: GFSK Antenna Type: Integral, Internal Frequency Range: 2402MHz-2480MHz , 2MHz channel spacing, 40 channels. Nominal field strength is 9 1.0 dB μV/m @ 3m Production Tolerance of field strength is +/- 3dB Antenna gain is 0dBi The functions of main ICs are mentioned below. Block #1 - MOD1 Bluetooth LE transceiver and microcontroller module Bluetooth stack is running in the MCU, Input key pad user input for on/off and pairing control #3 data is stored in non-volatile #4 LED #9 status output for user Buzzer #10 output as warning Block #2 - Energy Metering Energy metering chip (U5), convert current in voltage for BLE (MOD1). X1 (4.096MHz) acts as a crystal for clock for energy meter. Block #3 - Keypad User input - on, off, and pairing control Block #4 - Memory U3, user data store Block #6 - Relay Relay (K6) on/off the load Block #7 - power supply to system Switching Mode Power Supply (U4) Block #8 - Battery Battery (Batt1) keeps MCU (MOD1) the real time clock running Block #9 - LED on, off, pairing and overload indication Block #10 - Buzzer Overload indication Detail of operation Bluetooth module (MOD1) embedded with MCU and Bluetooth hardware & firmware. It contains two crystals Y1(32.768KHz) and Y2(32MHz) and integrated 2.4GHz PCB antenna. MCU takes keypad or BLE commands entered by user and send energy meter read (#2) via Bluetooth back to smartphone. Power consumption data and date is stored in non-volatile memory #4. If device overloaded, buzzer #10 will sound up. Back up battery (Batt1) is used to keep real time clock of Bluetooth module running even if the device is un-plugged from socket. Power supply #7 step down 120V to +5 Volt rail for the system. There is another regulator U2 which regulates the 5V to 3.3V for Bluetooth module (MOD1), memory (U3) and metering chip (U5). Relay (K6) is in series with the shunt and load for on, off controlled by MOD1.
