INTRODUCTION 3 USER INTERFACE SYSTEM COMPONENTS DATA INTERACTION 5 Start Enters OpenField environment without creating or loading an activity. Use this to assign/map monitors to athletes. New Activity Creates a new activity without starting a period. Do this if you want to prepare for a new activity, and have time before it actually starts. Hot Start Creates a new activity and starts recording data. Use this if you need to start your activity immediately. Full Sync Sends all changed/modified data to the cloud. This should be done at the conclusion of each day. Fast Sync Sends key information up to create reports on the cloud. USER INTERFACE SYSTEM COMPONENTS DATA INTERACTION 5 USER INTERFACE SYSTEM COMPONENTS DATA INTERACTION 5 Timeline Green bar depicts entire activity. Blue bars depict duration of each period or section of your session. When you select an activity or period it will highlight orange You are able to zoom in/out on your activity Controls to the bottom right allow creation of periods and easy navigation. Controls on the bottom middle of the timeline allow are the zero settings. You can choose to have your data start from zero at the start of the entire activity (A), from the start of the currently selected period (P), or for a user selected time interval (I). You can freely change between these modes without affecting your data. Data View Made up of a number of individual data elements called widgets. A widget can be: a tactical view of the players moving on the field, table of data parameters, bar graph. With all widgets you can choose your own parameters and filtering to show exactly what you want. Athletes panel Used to interact with the members of your team and set up. USER INTERFACE SYSTEM COMPONENTS DATA INTERACTION 5 SETTING UP OPENFIELD 6 PRIOR TO INSTALLING OPENFIELD ON COMPUTER Logging in/out Go to your OpenField cloud web address and enter your user name and password. Check account details Before setting up your athletes and band settings, click on ‘Settings’ then ‘My Account’. Ensure speed, distance, date format, weight and height measurements are correct to your region. These will be important when bulk importing athletes and viewing your data. 7 Check team settings To personalize your team settings, click on ‘Settings’ then ‘Teams’. Add your Name, Abbreviation, Sport, Velocity Dwell Time, Acceleration Dwell Time, Heart Rate Dwell Time, PlayerLoad Dwell Time, RHIE Effort Count, RHIE Effort Recovery, Velocity RHIE Bands, Acceleration RHIE Bands. You can also choose your colors and upload your logo. 8 Adding athletes When in the cloud, you can add athletes by going to ‘Settings’, then ‘Athletes’. To bulk import athletes, click ‘Import CSV’, then ‘Download Template’. Open the downloaded template and fill in the fields listed in the cells. Leave the ‘Device’ field blank. Before finishing, save the template. 9 When filling in template fields, all jersey numbers must be unique. eg. If you have a number 75 on offense and defence, use ‘75D’ for your defensive player. Go back to OpenField and find your saved template under ‘Choose File’ on the ‘Import CSV’ page. To add an athlete individually, click ‘Add Athlete’ on the ‘Athletes’ page. Fill out the athlete information fields. If a position for an athlete doesn’t appear, click ‘Settings’ then ‘Positions’ to add another one. 10 You can choose from a pre-populated list of positions or click ‘Add New’ if it is not listed. Enter ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’, then choose ‘Date of Birth’ from calendar. Click the ‘upload’ icon next to the image holder to upload a photo. The software accepts JPG, PNG and GIF up to 1MB in size. Don’t forget to save your changes. 11 Setting your bands Set your bands by clicking clicking ‘Settings’, then ‘Bands’. You can set bands globally (all athletes the same) or individually (per athlete or per position). Global band settings From the dropdown menu, choose which bands you want to set. Now set the lower and upper thresholds in the band settings below the dropdown menu. Once entered in an upper threshold, use the tab key on your keyboard to quickly navigate to the next bands upper limit setting. Once you have set these bands select “Apply to Selected Athletes”. 12 Once you’ve entered the upper threshold, hit the Tab key and you will automatically be taken to the next band’s upper threshold. Individual band settings Use the search filter in the top left corner of the screen to find either a single athlete or positional group. Once you have filtered the athlete/positional group, change the bands as above and select ‘Apply to Selected Athletes’. You can also ticket individual boxes. 13 INSTALLING OPENFIELD ON COMPUTER OpenField console is your link to the cloud. You need to install it in order to use the cloud. RUNNING THE INSTALLER - USER NAME AND DATABASE NAME Run the OpenField installer. Click ‘Next’ and accept the terms and conditions. Click ‘Next’ again through the installation process. You will be prompted to enter a Database, User Name and Region. Your Database and User Name will be the cloud user name provided by your Catapult representative. Click ‘Next’, create a desktop icon and click ‘Install’ to finish the installation. 14 You will see a prompt to install drivers if this is your first time installing. Click ‘OK’ to install. Depending on security, prompts may appear asking for you to allow access through your firewall. Click ‘Allow Access’ Click ‘Finish’ to launch OpenField console. 15 You will see a prompt to install drivers if this is your first time installing. Click ‘OK’ to install. To finish, click on your name in the top right corner and change the ‘Configuration’ settings to the venue you just added. To change the field/venue for one activity only, right click on the session, then ‘Edit’ and change venue. 21 RUNNING A SESSION 22 ASSIGNING MONITORS TO AN ATHLETE Prior to running a real-time session, it’s important each monitor is assigned to an athlete. The ID is found on the back of the monitor. To assign monitors to athletes, click on ‘Settings’ in the top left corner, then ‘Devices’ STARTING A REAL-TIME SESSION To run a real-time session, select ‘New Activity’ from the main title menu. Your activity will be created in the timeline. Right click and select ‘Edit’ to give the session a name. 23 Click the Play button to in the top right corner to start receiving data. The stream will change pattern when data is being received. Double-click on ‘Active Players’ to show all athletes. By selecting ‘all’ and ‘+period’, all athletes are added to the PIP. 24 Right click on the period to edit the period name on the fly. To stop all live periods, click the ‘Stop ALL live periods’ button. To add a live period, click the ‘Add live period’ button. 25 Creating and modifying widgets OpenField comes with pre-built dashboards to track a real-time session, but you can create your own. This can be done by simply clicking the ‘+’ button to create a new dashboard. Then, by right clicking in the white space of the dashboard, select ‘New Widget’ and the design you wish to use. Click and drag from the bottom right corner to re-size the widget. The parameters and title can be altered by clicking the ‘Settings’ icon. 27 Parameters that you wish to view can be deleted or added from the drop down list on the left, or by searching. Click ‘Build Query’ when done. Finishing a real-time session To finish a real-time session, end all living running periods by clicking the ‘Stop All live periods’ icon. Once the periods have stopped, return to your home page and click ‘Fast Sync’ to sync your live data up to the cloud for immediate reporting and feedback. 28 Reporting using real time It is recommended that monitors are downloaded to the console before generating detailed reports. There are two ways to view your real-time data: 1. Syncing your real-time session to view your data through the cloud. 2. Generating a CTR after finalizing the activity. To do this, right click on the activity and select ‘Finalize Activity’, then ‘Export CTR’. 29 FINISHING A SESSION 30 After you have received your monitors post-session, you will need to download the data and sync with the cloud. The data from the monitors allow calculation of our advanced algorithms to take place and any information missed while running real-time. TRANSFERRING DATA OFF MONITORS Plug in your monitors to the charge case and push each monitor into its slot one at a time. Only connect one charge case to the computer at a time. To view the download and import status of your connected monitors, click ‘Data Transfer’ Once all monitors have downloaded, make sure all charge cases are disconnected from the computer. Return to the main menu and run your desired sync. 31 ADJUSTING PERIODS/ADDING NEW PERIODS Asjusting periods can be done during or after the real-time session. It is highly recommended that any period editing is done on the console before syncing to the cloud. To edit any periods in the last activity you captured from the main title menu, select ‘Last Activity’. To adjust the start or end time of an existing period, simply right click on the period you want to change and select ‘Edit’. To add a new period to a live session that has already finished, right click the activity and select ‘New Period’. Name the period and enter in the start and end time. Now add players to this period generated via ‘Team’, select the athletes you want to add, and then ‘PIP’. 32 REASSIGNING MONITORS If you want to re-assign a monitor to another athlete, click on the ‘Start’ tile on the main menu. From the ‘Activities’ panel, select the session you want to change. Click on ‘Settings’, then ‘Devices’ and re-assign the monitor just for that session. For these changes to take effect in the cloud, right click on ‘Activity’ and select ‘Finalize’. Then return to the main menu and ‘Fast Sync’. 33 THE WEB USER INTERFACE 36 THE WEB USER INTERFACE 36 After you’ve completed transferring your data to the cloud, you can in to your web account and start creating reports. OpenField enables customization of data to let a user make reporting as simple or complex as they choose it to be. COMPONENTS AND FUNCTION OpenField cloud has a simple set-up that enables you to create reports, edit timeline, and filter activities. Editing the timeline is done by right clicking the period or session. Athletes can be added by clicking on the period or activity and adding them in to PIP from Player Banks. Activities can be selected and filtered by clicking the ‘Activity’ arrow on the top left. 37 SETTING UP A WIDGET Widgets can be added by clicking on the tiles and selecting ‘Add New Widget’. Configure the widget’s design. Designs can also be altered after they’re created by clicking on the widgets’ ‘Settings’ icon.
