Makers of Dynamic Alloys FLEXINOL® FLEXINOL® User Manual If used properly, this device will enhance your independence and will provide you with years of trouble free usage. The advantages offered by Freedom Flow™ II include: • Independence from a wheelchair battery, enabling you to use the device on powered or manual wheelchairs. • Ease of installation on your leg bag and wheelchair. • Touch-sensitive operation that empties your leg bag. • Usage for more than one week on a single overnight charge. • Light weight and small size without bulky appearance. • Silent operation without clicking or buzzing noises. • Substantially reduced risk of urinary tract infection since no part of the device makes direct contact with urine. • Possibility of back-up manual operation if the device unexpectedly runs out of charge. • Highly secure wireless remote control avoids tangling of wires in wheel and simplifies movements. F5015Rev A.4 1 FCC Statement This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Any changes made to the circuitry or design aspects of this device will void it’s FCC verification. INSTRUCTION TO THE USER This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: * Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. * Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. * Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. * Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. In order to maintain compliance with FCC regulations, shielded cables must be used with this equipment. Operation with non-approved equipment or unshielded cables is likely to result in interference to radio and TV reception. Main Unit 2. Remote Switch 3. Charger Base 4. Universal charger 5. Car Charger 6. Latex Tubing 2 Notes: The latex tube size and softness degree are important for proper operation of the Freedom Flow™ II device. We suggest you to keep a small section of the supplied latex tube for reference when purchasing new tubes. You should clean the supplied tube prior to the first and after each use daily with cleaning solutions recommended for your urological appliances. To disconnect the device from the leg bag simply press the manual release button while holding the device as shown. Next pull the rubber tubing outward. Clean the device by wiping it with a dampened cloth. To secure the switch from loss by accidental detachment we recommend fastening its metallic ring to the wheelchair with a strong string. Limited 1 Year Warranty Freedom Flow™ II is warranted against defects in material or workmanship for 1 year from date of purchase. Any problem arising from misuse, attempts at repair, dropping, excessive contact with water, or extreme wear are not covered by this warranty. If your Freedom Flow™ II fails to function during this 1 year period, we will repair or replace your unit free of charge. Only UPS Ground Shipping will be provided by Dynalloy, Inc. Freedom Flow™ II operates by sliding onto your leg bag latex tubing and pinching the tube closed. When activated, Freedom Flow™ II will open and allow the urine to drain. When deactivated, it will re-pinch the tube. Freedom Flow™ II uses innovative technology that makes our safe and reliable design possible. 3 Charging the Freedom Flow™ II: 1.
