Page 1 of 3 FCC Notices AURORA Model: WL-C15005 FCC ID: 2AECKWL-C15005 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditio ns: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference receiv ed, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for Class B Digital Device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable pro tection against harmful interference in a residenti al installation. • This device may only be used with the approved ante nna that is shipped with the unit and installed per the installation instructions. The use of any other antennas will i nvalidate the units’ FCC Part 15 certifications. • To reduce potential radio interference to other use rs, the antenna type and its gain should be so chose n that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that permitted for successful communication. Operating the device with the supplied antenna will ensure that this req uirement is met. This equipment generates and can radiate radio freq uency energy and, if not installed and used in accor dance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communicati ons. However, there is no guarantee that interferenc e will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference t o radio or television reception, which can be determ ined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures. • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna • Increase the separation between the equipment and r eceiver • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit d ifferent from that to which the receiver is connect ed • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV techn ician for help Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. Ubicquia will provide guida nce to the host manufacturer for compliance with Part 15 Subpa rt B requirements. FCC RF Exposure Requirements A separation distance of 20 cm should be observed t o maintain compliance with the FCC’s RF exposure gui delines set out in OET Bulletin 65. Page 2 of 3 OEM Responsibility to the FCC Rules and Regulations The AURORA Module has been certified per FCC Part 1 5 rules for integration into products without furth er testing or certification. To fulfill the FCC certification requirements, the OEM using the AURORA Module must ensure that the inform ation provided on the AURORA Label is placed on the outside of the final product. The AURORA Module is labeled with its own FCC ID Number. If this is not visible when the module is installed inside ano ther device, then the outside of the device into whi ch the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed modu le. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: 2AECKWL-C15005. The OEM using the AURORA Module must only use the a pproved on-board chip-antenna that has been certifi ed with this module. The OEM using the AURORA Module must test their fin al product configuration to comply with Unintention al Radiator Limits before declaring FCC compliance per Part 15 of the FCC rul es. FCC RF Exposure Requirements A separation distance of 20 cm should be observed t o maintain compliance with the FCC’s RF exposure gui delines set out in OET Bulletin 65. The AURORA Module is limited to OEM installation on ly. The OEM integrator is responsible for ensuring that the end-user has no manual instructions to remove or install the module . The AURORA Module is limited to installation in mobile or fixed applications. A separated approval is required for all other oper ating configurations. The OEM integrator must prov ide required operating conditions for end users including the above FCC RF Exposure Notice. The AURORA Module must comply wi th any applicable RF exposure requirements in its final configuration. Page 3 of 3 Power Aurora Microcontrollers require a 5VDC battery powe r supply. It can also work with 3.3VDC battery powe r however depending on the sensors being used may not provide enough power at 3.3VDC. You can use 3.3VDC coin cell batteries via the VCC. You can also use higher voltage batteries up to 28VDC through th e RAW pin and it will be regulated to 5VDC through the board itself. Inputs/Outputs There are 14 Digital pins and 6 analog pins for hoo king up sensors, motors, servos and relays. Programming To program an Aurora MicroController you must use a FTDI programmer. Simply plug the programmer into t he bottom Aurora board’s bottom connector face up. Using the Arduino IDE, select the port and upload your sketch. (Ensur e you have selected Uno as the board type. This is only for development protot ypes. Final will be arduino pro-mini type. Bootloader You can use an AVR programmer or another Aurora Mic roController to either update or replace the bootlo ader. If you are using an Aurora MicroController please using the following p in connections. D13 -> D13 D12 -> D12 D11 -> D11 D10 -> RST (Ensure this is the target board) VCC -> VCC GND -> GND
March 9, 2015 Timco Engineering, Inc. 849 N.W. State Road 45 P.O. Box 370 Newberry, Florida 32669 Re: Modular Radio Certification Request Gentlemen, The following information is being provided per the requirements of DA001407 regarding modular approval of Part 15 devices. This transceiver is a complete RF module with an integral reference oscillator. External connections are provided for DC power, sensor, and control leads. The following numbered items correspond to similarly numbered paragraphs in DA001407. Each item is a response to the requirements of that document. 1.)The module has integral RF shielding to isolate it from surrounding equipment and environment. 2.)All inputs are processed as data by the onboard microcontroller. The end user has no direct control of transmit modulation. 3.)The module has an onboard LDO voltage regulator. 4.)An integral chipantenna is used with this module. This satisfies the requirements of Part 15, § 15.203. 5.)The module was tested in a standalone configuration and found to be compliant with Part 15, FCC Rules. 6.)An FCC ID label is affixed to each unit at the time of manufacture. Information is also clearly presented in the user guide about labeling requirements for the final assembly. 7.)The unit is compliant with Part 15, § 15.249. Installation and other requirements are presented in the user guide to allow the unit to be correctly installed. 8.)The unit is compliant with the RF exposure requirements of Part 2, § 2.1091 and 2.1093. Further information may be obtained from Ubicquia, LLC. Sincerely, Tre Zimmerman Tre Zimmerman
