BTG Server Transmitter BMTX‐SC16 Users Guide Congratulations on your purchase/rental of the Boomerang Paging family of products. This on‐premise paging system incorporates may advances in electronics and wireless technologies. The Boomerang family of paging products allows your business to serve your customers more effectively, increase convenience for your customers and your staff, and additionally manage your customers expectations more efficiently. This user manual explains how to operate your new paging system, and provides the needed support to use your new system to its full potential. Familiarity with this user manual assures you get the most from your Boomerang paging system. Keep this guide handy and preferably close to the system for quick reference. Mode Explanations: Your new Server Transmitter can operate in one of 3 modes: Standard Mode: This is the simplest of modes, and suits most kitchen staff needs. To page a staff member back to the kitchen, simply press the number of the pager that the staff member is carrying. The light next to the number will light for 5 seconds, and your page will be sent. Cancel Mode: This mode will page the selected staff member repeatedly at a set interval until the selected staff member’s button is cleared. To page a staff member back to the kitchen, simply press the number of the pager that the staff member is carrying. This will page the staff member once, and then keep paging them until you press the staff member’s button again. Notify Manager Mode: Notify manager mode works very similar to Cancel mode, except that it will send an additional message to the manager pagers if the call is not cancelled before a set amount of time. This feature is very useful to notify managers if food is waiting too long before it is picked up. Note: The function is to system upgrade of the USB. Changing the Mode of your Server Transmitter: 1. Press the FUNC button on your Transmitter 6 times. This should then show your current Operation Mode. 2. Press the X3 button once. 3. Cycle through the Operation modes using the FUNC key. 4. Press X3 to select your desired mode. 5. Press X2 to exit the function menus. Setting the Clock on your Server Transmitter: 1. Press the FUNC button 3 times. This should then show the current setting of the clock. 2. Press the X3 Button once. 3. Enter the desired time in a 24 Hour format using the numbered keys. Use the 10 key to enter 0. 4. Press X3 to save. If you make a mistake, press X2 twice to exit the settings and start again. Setting the Repeat Interval for Cancel Mode: The repeat interval is the setting that tells the system how often to repeat a page to the staff in Cancel mode. For example: if you set this setting to 30 seconds, the system will repeat the page to the staff member every 30 seconds until the staff members page has been cleared. This is also the case for Notify Manager mode. 1. Press the FUNC button 8 times. This should then show the current setting of the Repeat Interval. 2. Press the X3 button once. 3. Entered the desired time in seconds using the numbered keys. Use the 10 key to enter 0. 4. Press the X3 key to save. 5. Press the X2 key to exit the settings screens. Setting the Notify Manager Timing for Notify Manager Mode Notify manager Mode is useful to notify managers that the kitchen may be waiting too long for wait staff to pick up orders from the kitchen. The Notify Manager Timing setting lets you set how long before the system alerts a manager that an order has not been picked up. **It is VERY important that this setting is not lower than the Repeat Interval for Cancel Mode as set previously. If it is set too low, it can cause a paging loop and produce undesired operation. Please set it to be a minimum of 2 times the value of your Repeat Interval** 1. Press the FUNC button 5 times. This should then show the current setting of the Notify Manager Time. 2. Press the X3 button once. 3. Entered the desired time in seconds using the numbered keys. Use the 10 key to enter 0. 4. Press the X3 button to save. 5. Press the X2 button to exit the setting screens. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. RF Exposure evaluation According to 447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v05 The 1-g and 10-g SAR test exclusion thresholds for 100 MHz to 6 GHz at test separation distances ≤ 50 mm are determined by: [(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW)/(min. test separation distance, mm)] ·[√f(GHz)] ≤ 3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤ 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR, where f(GHz) is the RF channel transmit frequency in GHz Power and distance are rounded to the nearest mW and mm before calculation The result is rounded to one decimal place for comparison eirp = pt x gt = (EXd) 2 /30 where: pt = transmitter output power in watts, gt = numeric gain of the transmitting antenna (unitless), E = electric field strength in V/m, --- 10 ((dBuV/m)/20) /10 6 d = measurement distance in meters (m)---3m So pt = (EXd) 2 /30 x gt Field strength = 72.45dBuV/m @3m Ant gain 2.15dBi; so Ant numeric gain=1.64 So pt={[10 (72.45/20) /10 6 x3] 2 /(30x1 .64) }x1000mW=0.0 04mW So (0.004mW/5mm)x √0.43392GHz=0.001<3 Then SAR evaluation is not required
