Bluetooth Asset Tracking Beacon Installation & Setup Guide Tools you’ll need: ●Android Smartphone running Android 6 or newer and is equipped with Bluetooth, GPS, and a camera. ●Compology Technician Android Application ○You will need to download the Compology Technician app on to your android device by visit the Google Play store and searching “Compology Technician” or going directly to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compology.maintenance ●Cordless drill (recommended: Power rating of at least 12V) ●3/16” drill bit ●Riveter (rated to be able to pop 3/16 stainless steel rivets) ●Recommended: Safety gloves and protective eyewear Beacon placement: Each beacon should be installed on the exterior of the container, on the hoist end. To best protect the beacon, we suggest placing the beacon 1.Near the support beams OR 2.Next to or behind ladder railings Attaching the beacon: Once you've identified the location to install the beacon, then: 1.Hold the beacon in place 2.Use the rivet holes as markers and drill one hole into the container using your cordless drill and 3/16 drill bit 3.While still holding the beacon in place, use your riveter to pop the first rivet into the same rivet hole which you just drilled a hole. 4.The Beacon should now hold in place on its own 5.Adjust the beacon to desired placement, then use the second rivet hole to drill your second hole 6.Use your riveter to pop the first rivet into the second hole. Digitally Create Container: Once the beacon is securely attached to the container: 1.Make sure your Android smartphone has granted the Compology Technician app permission to access the camera and location services 2.Log in to the Compology Technician App on your android device with the same user credentials (email + password) you created for the Compology web app. 3.Open the Menu 4.Select “New Beacon Install” 5.Enter Container details 6.When prompted, scan the QR Code on the Beacon that was installed 7.Click “Activate Beacon” The container and beacon are now paired, visible in Compology’s asset tracking web app, and can be detected by the Compology Beacon Finder app (that should already be downloaded and running on your truck android tablets and phones). Disclaimer: NOTICE: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1.this device may not cause harmful interference, and 2.this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTICE: Changes or modifications made to this equipment not expressly approved by Compology may void the FCC authorization to operate this equipment.
