WALKIE TALKIES BELT CLIP ATTACHMENT ON / OFF BUTTON RECEIVE / TRANSMIT HOW TO CHANGE CHANNELS 1. To remove the belt clip, press the tab at the top of the clip and slide upward. 2. To reattach, slide clip piece down with the clip facing inward until you hear a click. Press and hold down the power button (right of LCD screen) for 3 seconds to power the device on or off, a beep will indicate operation. To transmit, press and hold the TALK button while talking into the device at a close range. Release the button to finish talking - when the button is released your walkie-talkie can receive transmissions. Note: Walkie-talkies must be set to the same channel and CTCSS code. Release the TALK button when you’re finished talking to receive a response. • Press the MENU button once; the current channel number will flash on the LCD screen. • Press up & down buttons to change channel. • Press the TALK button to confirm and return to Standby mode. Note: If no button is pressed, the device will return to Standby Mode. 1. Press down on the back panel of the unit and slide the battery cover off (you may need to remove the belt clip for easier access). 2. Insert 4AAA Batteries (not included). 3. Replace the cover. Your devices also have sub-channels called the CTCSS. Using this transmits one of 99 low-frequency tones (67-250 Hz) along with your voice signal. Note: This feature does not impact operation or quality; to disable, select code “0F” in the menu; press the TALK button to confirm. Change the CTCSS Code • Press the MENU button twice; the current CTCSS code will flash on the LCD screen. • Press up & down buttons to change the code. • Press the TALK button to confirm. These devices are capable of voice-activated (VOX) control. This means the walkie-talkie will transmit any sound it picks up without pressing the TALK button. It is not recommended that VOX mode be used in a noisy or windy environment.
