Câble de Raccordement d’Appareil Externe BATTERY INSTALLATION install before use inside the left ear cup (the ear cup WITHOUT the Power / Volume Control knob). 1. The LE401B earmuff requires 2AAA size Alkaline batteries. The battery tray is The foam is cut and can be opened for battery installation. 2. Unit will not operate unless batteries are installed with correct polarity. Locate the “+” and “–” molded into the battery tray. Place the positive end of the battery at the end of the tray nearest to the “+”. The second battery is placed opposite to the first. 3. Installing the batteries over the ribbon will allow the user to remove the batter- ies by pulling on the loose end of the ribbon. 4. After installation of batteries, return foam to original position. 5. Without placing the ear muffs on head, check for correct battery installation by turning the Power / Volume Control knob to verify that the LED “ON” Indicator Light lights when the switch is in the “ON” position. VOLUME KNOB 1. Identify the Power / Volume Control knob. 2. Turn on and adjust the volume control by rotating the knobs from back to front until the desired volume is achieved. It is important to increase the volume control very gradually to avoid sudden increase in sound. When not in use, turn the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a ‘click’. This indicates the power to the electronics in the earmuff has been turned off. FITTING INSTRUCTIONS 1. For best results, it is important that the ear muff is fitted and worn properly. Maximum attenuation will only be achieved if the HPD is properly fitted. 2. Before ear muff is fitted to head, grasp ear cup with one hand, and headband with the other. Slide the ear cup gently away from the headband. The wire headband frame will extend from the guide arms about one inch. 3. Place ear muff on head, and gently collapse the headband frame into the guide arms until the headband rests on top of the wearer’s head and the ear cups completely cover the wearer’s ears. 4. The ear cup with the Power / Volume Control knob should be worn on over the wearer’s right ear. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. After installation of batteries and fitting, gently twist Power / Volume Control knob. There is slight resistance on the knob when unit is in “OFF” position. A click indicates unit is “on” and visible light from the LED verifies. 2. Increase volume gradually until sounds from surroundings can be heard. 3. Amplification of surroundings is interrupted when there are bursts or impulse noises at unsafe levels. AUXILIARY INPUT OPERATION 1. Use the accessory patch cable included with the unit. 2. Plug one end of the cable into the Auxiliary Jack on the ear muffs and the other end of the cable into the auxiliary device or smart phone. 3. Turn the ear muff Volume Control knob to “ON” position, but leave volume at minimum setting. 4. Turn on the music, radio or audio source from the external device. Use the volume control on the external device to adjust levels to your preference. 5. While Auxiliary device is plugged in and turned on, ear muffs will provide sound from your auxiliary device but will not amplify or let the wearer hear their surroundings.
