A29507456 Report No: 75461RRF.003 Page 98 of 118 2023-11-08 Radiated Emissions Limits 1. LTE Cat 1bis Band 12. * FCC §27.53 (g): (g) For operations in the 600 MHz band and the 698–746 MHz band, the power of any emission outside a licensee's frequency band(s) of operation shall be attenuated below the transmitter power (P) within the licensed band(s) of operation, measured in watts, by at least 43 + 10 log (P) dB. Compliance with this provision is based on the use of measurement instrumentation employing a resolution bandwidth of 100 kilohertz or greater. However, in the 100 kilohertz bands immediately outside and adjacent to a licensee's frequency block, a resolution bandwidth of at least 30 kHz may be employed. * RSS-130, 4.7: 4.7.1 General unwanted emissions limits: The unwanted emissions in any 100 kHz bandwidth on any frequency outside the low frequency edge and the high frequency edge of each frequency block range(s), shall be attenuated below the transmitter power, P (dBW), by at least 43 + 10 log10 p (watts), dB. However, in the 100 kHz band immediately outside of the equipment's frequency block range, a resolution bandwidth of 30 kHz may be employed. 4.7.2 Additional unwanted emissions limits: In addition to the limit outlined in section 4.7.1 above, equipment operating in the frequency bands 746-756 MHz and 777-787 MHz shall also comply with the following restrictions: a. the power of any unwanted emissions in any 6.25 kHz bandwidth for all frequencies between 763-775 MHz and 793-806 MHz shall be attenuated below the transmitter power, P (dBW), by at least: i. 76 + 10 log10 p (watts), dB, for base and fixed equipment and ii. 65 + 10 log10 p (watts), dB, for mobile and portable equipment b. the e.i.r.p. in the band 1559-1610 MHz shall not exceed −70 dBW/MHz for wideband signal and −80 dBW for discrete emission with bandwidth less than 700 Hz. 2. LTE Cat 1bis Band 13. * FCC §27.53 (c) & (f): (c) For operations in the 746-758 MHz band and the 776-788 MHz band, the power of any emission outside the licensee's frequency band(s) of operation shall be attenuated below the transmitter power (P) within the licensed band(s) of operation, measured in watts, in accordance with the following: (1) On any frequency outside the 746–758 MHz band, the power of any emission shall be attenuated outside the band below the transmitter power (P) by at least 43 + 10 log (P) dB; (2) On any frequency outside the 776-788 MHz band, the power of any emission shall be attenuated outside the band below the transmitter power (P) by at least 43 + 10 log (P) dB; (3) On all frequencies between 763–775 MHz and 793–805 MHz, by a factor not less than 76 + 10 log (P) dB in a 6.25 kHz band segment, for base and fixed stations; (4) On all frequencies between 763–775 MHz and 793–805 MHz, by a factor not less than 65 + 10 log (P) dB in a 6.25 kHz band segment, for mobile and portable stations; DEKRA Testing and Certification, S.A.U. However, in the 100 kHz bands immediately outside and adjacent to the frequency block, a resolution bandwidth of at least 30 kHz may be employed; (6) Compliance with the provisions of paragraphs (c)(3) and (c)(4) of this section is based on the use of measurement instrumentation such that the reading taken with any resolution bandwidth setting should be adjusted to indicate spectral energy in a 6.25 kHz segment. (f) For operations in the 746–758 MHz, 775–788 MHz, and 805–806 MHz bands, emissions in the band 1559–1610 MHz shall be limited to −70 dBW/MHz equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) for wideband signals, and −80 dBW EIRP for discrete emissions of less than 700 Hz bandwidth. For the purpose of equipment authorization, a transmitter shall be tested with an antenna that is representative of the type that will be used with the equipment in normal operation. Please refer to the enclosed Operational Description exhibit for a comprehensive list of supported frequency bands. There have been no changes to the originally certified module, except for an alternative antenna use. The following test reports have been reviewed and are deemed valid, representative of the module’s performance within the GDSBA1 product, and compliant with current FCC requirements: Technology Report ID Issue date Rule Part LTE Band 5 75461RRF.001 November 9, 2023 22H LTE Band 2, 25 75461RRF.002 November 9, 2023 24E LTE Bands 4, 12, 13, 66 75461RRF.003 November 8, 2023 27 LTE Band 14 75461RRF.004 November 8, 2023 90R In addition, new radio testing with the new antenna has been conducted to demonstrate continued compliance of the integrated cellular module, which also includes a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio. Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE) testing was performed for CAT1-bis module in conjunction with BLE to validate simultaneous transmission compliance. The GDSBA1 incorporates a custom antenna design to support the combined radio system of the product (see attached datasheet). From the cellular standpoint and the approved module: • The WNC Corporation (OEM: Sequans) module certification is based on the following antenna gains: 2 dBi (sub-1 GHz) and 2.4 dBi (above 1 GHz). • The GDSBA1 antenna design achieves the following antenna gains: 2.3 dBi (sub-1 GHz), and 2.8 dBi (above 1 GHz). An analysis of the antenna change has determined the following: • FCC Part 22H (B5 – 840 MHz): The new antenna gain is 0.3 dB higher, but there is sufficient ERP margin in the original report to accommodate increase of gain. ERP limit is 7 W (38.45 dBm) and the original assessment maximum level measured was 22.75 dBm (conducted). 22.75 dBm + 2.3 dBi (new antenna) = 25.05 dBm EIRP or 22.90 dBm ERP which is 15.55 dB margin below the limit. Radiated testing with new antenna demonstrate continued compliance. • FCC Part 24E (B2, B25 – 1900 MHz): The new antenna gain is slightly higher than the original, but there is sufficient EIRP margin in the original report to accommodate this. EIRP limit is 33 dBm and the original assessment maximum level measured was 22.65 dBm (conducted). 22.65 dBm + 2.8 dBi (new antenna) = 25.45 dBm = 7.55 dB margin below the limit. Radiated testing with new antenna demonstrate continued compliance. • FCC Part 27 (B4, B66 – 1700 MHz and B12, B13 – 700 MHz): Similarly, there is gain increase within acceptable limits based on the original report for above 1 GHz. EIRP limit is 30 dBm and the original assessment maximum level measured was 22.93 dBm (conducted). 22.93 dBm + 2.8 dBi (new antenna) = 25.73 dBm = 4.27 dB margin below the limit. The new antenna gain has 0.3 dB increase which is within acceptable limits bas…
