Do not point the thermal imaging camera at the sun or other strong energy sources for long periods of time, otherwise there might be damage to the detector in the thermal imaging camera. Keep the thermal imaging camera away f rom water to avoid electricity leakage or short circuits. Do not touch the lens with your hands. Do not knock, pry, puncture, or scratch the lens. Do not disassemble the thermal imaging camera. TOPDON's TC004 is a 256*192 handheld thermal imaging camera used for equipment inspection and maintenance. The thermal camera supports applications such as HVAC inspection, water leak detection, and pest control. It can operate independently or be connected to a Windows-based computer or a mobile device. Keyboard 2. 3.5-Inch Screen 3. USB-C Port USB-C port is used for charging, screen projecting to PC, and file transfer. Since data is stored and transferred in MTP format, direct data reading is supported on Windows systems, but not on Mac computers. To transfer data between TC004 and a Mac computer, file format conversion software is required (e.g., OpenMTP, MTPdrive). Power Button Albums Button Return Button Flashlight Button Move Up / Down / Left / Right Buttons OK Button Short press to wake the screen or put it into sleep mode; long press to turn the device on or off. Short press to enter the album or enable vehicle detection. On the idle home screen, short press once to trigger the shutter. On any other screen, short press once to return to the previous page. Short press to turn on/off the flashlight. Long press to enable or disable the red laser pointer. Press the four buttons to move the cursor in the corresponding direction. On the home screen, press the Move Left/Right button to adjust the zoom level. Short press to show the pop-out navigation menu; short press again to confirm an action or message. EN I 9 5. To enable the function, go to Setting > Photo Setting, and turn on Photo Auto Save. 4. Camera Button Short press to take a photo, then short press the OK Button to save the photo; long press to start recording a video, short press to stop recording, then short press the OK Button to save the video. EN I 10 Section 3 Using TC004 in Standalone Mode In standalone mode, the TC004 thermal imaging camera operates independently. To learn more about the operation of each button and port on the TC004 device, you can refer to Section 2 Product Overview. Instructions for Use Power-on Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds to power on TC004. After TC004 is powered on, check the battery charge. If it is not enough for the activity that you’re going to do, charge TC004 first. Charging TC004 should be fully charged prior to use. Charge TC004 via the USB-A to USB-C cable. Plug one end into the USB-C port of TC004 and the other end into a power adapter. Take Photos and Videos In the process of using TC004 for detection, you can take photos and record videos when needed. To take a photo, press the Camera Button. To record a video, press and hold the Camera Button. The photos and videos will be saved on TC004. You can view or transfer them when you connect TC004 to a Windows-based PC via the USB cable. Main Screen Functions After the TC004 is powered on and enters the home screen, you can press the OK Button to reveal the navigation bar and the functions are introduced as follows: Measurement After the Measurement function is selected, nine options are displayed: Center Spot, Max., Min., Custom spot 1, Custom spot 2, Custom spot 3, Isotherms Hot Spot, Isotherms Cold Spot and Layout. Isotherms A toast will be displayed when it is enabled. You can set a temperature range using the Move Up/Down button. Area detected between this range will be displayed in the selected pseudo-color palette. EN I 11 Layout With this feature enabled, the device will automatically clear all OSD and retain only the live captured image. Pseudo-color Palettes When you use TC004 for observation and detection, you can choose a desired pseudo-color palette according to actual situations. Seven palettes are available: White Hot, Black Hot, Lava, Iron, Rainbow, Rainbow HC and RdGy (Red Gray). Access the System Menu After powering on the TC004, you can press the OK Button to reveal the navigation bar. Then, use the Move Left/Right Button to select and access the Settings menu where you can configure the following features: Measurement Parameters This menu allows you to manually configure the Emissivity, Ambient Temperature, Distance Auto Set Distance. Temp. Measurement Gear This menu allows you to select a temperature range: -20°C~150°C, 100°C~550°C, or Auto Mode. Alarm Settings This feature enables you to set temperature thresholds for the Alarm, and to enable or disable the LED Alarm and Alarm Photo functions, with adjustable interval and capture count settings…
