How is personal privacy protected? Device location is visible only to the owner. Your location data and records are never stored on Apple’s or the manufacturer’s servers. Devices relaying location information remain anonymous throughout the process, and location data is encrypted at every stage of transmission. Therefore, neither Apple nor the manufacturer can determine your device’s location or identify the device assisting with location tracking. 4. What is the “Find My” network? How does it work? The Apple “Find My” network relies on the “Find My” app (for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac) and the “Find My” app on Apple Watch to conveniently and securely locate compatible personal items on a map. Simply pair your compatible device with the “Find My” app, and you’ll be able to view its location alongside your Apple devices. If you lose an item, you can turn on “Lost Mode,” and the person who finds it will see the message and contact information you’ve provided.
