OCEANIC DIVE HOUSING Basic Use, Safety, and Warning Guide Congratulations on purchasing the Oceanic dive housing! This is a versatile housing which fits many generations of the Apple iPhone (See compatibility chart here) and allows photo, video and dive information tracking during your scuba adventures. To get started, scan the QR code on the packaging or inside the dive housing to download the FREE version of Oceanic+ app from the Apple APP store. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in our device to connect to the Dive housing. From here the app will guide you through the setup of your device and connection to use the Dive housing. What’s in the box? • 1x Dive Housing • 1x Grease pack • 5x Desiccant packs • 1x Spare o-ring • 1x O-ring removal tool • 2x Rubber adjustment pads • 1x Wrist lanyard • Protective EVA case We always recommend getting familiar with the Oceanic+ app on your phone and the procedure to pair your iPhone to the Dive Housing prior to diving. Tutorials are available at: INSERT LINK These will cover how to operate the Dive housing various modes for photo, video and scuba. Use of your iPhone inside the Dive housing requires use of the Oceanic+ app. For your safety, be sure to always follow the Oceanic+ user prompts, warnings, and terms and conditions displayed on your iPhone, including the EULA end user license agreement for Oceanic+, “LICENSEE EXPRESSLY AND VOLUNTARILY AGREES TO ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISK OF INJURY, DEATH OR DAMAGE TO MY PERSON OR PROPERTY ARISING FROM OR IN CONJUCTION WITH THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE AND/OR THE USE OR OPERATION OF THE HARDWARE.” *INSERT IMAGE FRONT w/callouts for features/buttons *INSERT IMAGE BACK w/callouts for features/buttons • Always ensure your iPhone is connected to the Dive housing prior to diving • Always ensure your iPhone and Dive Housing are fully charged prior to diving • Always confirm that the housing is protected by using the automatic vacuum sealing system • Never take apart the Oceanic Dive Housing. If you believe there is an issue with the Oceanic Dive Housing, discontinue use and contact Oceanic technical support for assistance. • Do not leave the Oceanic Dive Housing exposed to a heat source or store in high temperatures. (e.g., in a locked car parked in the sun) • Be sure to charge your Oceanic Dive Housing if not being used for long periods of time. (e,g., between dive trips) to avoid damage to the battery. Never attempt to remove or disassemble the housing to access the battery as this could damage the electronics. • To avoid leaks, the O-rings should be checked to ensure that they are free from any dirt, sand, hair and dust every time before use the Oceanic Dive Housing. Use a soft cloth to clean the O- rings if required. The O-rings should also be carefully checked for cracks or blemishes. Gently and evenly apply a thin coat of grease to the entire O-rings regularly to prolong O-ring life. Be careful not to scratch the O-rings surface. If cracks or blemishes occur, the rings should be replaced immediately, otherwise they should be replaced annually during your regularly scheduled maintenance. • Do not open the Oceanic Dive Housing, vacuum port or attempt to depressurize the housing while in the water. Doing so could flood and/or damage the housing and your secondary electronics. • Wash the exterior of the Oceanic Dive Housing thoroughly with clean fresh water immediately after use. Soaking the housing in fresh water will help to remove salt deposits prior to storage. • Do not use harsh chemicals to clean the housing as those could damage the plastic housing. • When drying always use a soft clean towel to avoid scratching the glass lens or clear polycarbonate • Please ensure the housing is dry before opening. Allowing water to come in contact with the internal device may cause damage to the device. • Do not disassemble, modify, remanufacture, puncture or damage the Oceanic Dive Housing. RF Exposure evaluation FCC ID: 2BBD2-041900 1.1. Applicable Standard According to §1.1307(b)(1), systems operating under the provisions of this section shall be operated in a manner that ensures that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy level in excess of the Commission’s guidelines. According to §1.1310 and §2.1093 RF exposure requirement KDB447498 v06: Mobile and Portable Devices RF Exposure Procedures and Equipment Authorization Policies 1.2. Requirement According to KDB447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v06 Section 4.3.1 Standalone SAR test exclusion considerations: “Unless specifically required by the published RF exposure KDB procedures, standalone 1-g head or body and 10-g extremity SAR evaluation for general population exposure conditions, by measurement or numerical simulation, is not required when the corresponding SAR Test Exclusion Threshold condition, listed below, is satisfied. These test exclusion conditions are based on source-based time-averaged maximum conducted output power of the RF channel requiring evaluation, adjusted for tune-up tolerance, and the minimum test separation distance required for the exposure conditions.22 The minimum test separation distance is determined by the smallest distance from the antenna and radiating structures or outer surface of the device, according to the host form factor, exposure conditions and platform requirements, to any part of the body or extremity of a user or bystander (see 5) of section 4.1). To qualify for SAR test exclusion, the test separation distances applied must be fully explained and justified by the operating configurations and exposure conditions of the transmitter and applicable host platform requirements, typically in the SAR measurement or SAR analysis report, according to the required published RF exposure KDB procedures. When no other RF exposure testing or reporting is required, a statement of justification and compliance must be included in the equipment approval, in lieu of the SAR report, to qualify for the SAR test exclusion. When required, the device specific conditions described in the other published RF exposure KDB procedures must be satisfied before applying these SAR test exclusion provisions; for example, handheld PTT two-way radios, handsets, laptops & tablets etc.23 “ [(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW)/ (min. test separation distance, mm)] · [√f (GHz)] ≤ 3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤ 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR, where: • f (GHz) is the RF channel transmit frequency in GHz • Power and distance are rounded to the nearest mW and mm before calculation • The result is rounded to one decimal place for comparison • 3.0 and 7.5 are referred to as the numeric thresholds in the step 2 below The test exclusions are applicable only when the minimum test separation distance is ≤ 50 mm and for transmission frequencies between 100 MHz and 6 GHz. When the minimum test separation distance is < 5 mm, a distance of 5 mm according to 5) in section 4.1 is applied to determine SAR test exclusion. 1.3.
