Spareit Scale – User Manual Sep 14, 2023 V2 1. Introduction The Spare-it Scale is designed to be placed under an office trash bin to automatically report weight changes to the cloud over LoRa connectivity. 2. Specs - Size: 32 x 32 cm - Connectivity: LoRa - 1 configuration port - 4 batteries 3. Inputs and outputs - 1 LED: o Blinks when connecting to LoRa gateway o 1 second blink after successful connection to LoRa gateway before going to sleep mode 4. Initial setup 4.1. Place batteries into the Spare-it Scale (the Spare-it Scale will automatically connect when nearby a Spare-it gateway) 4.2. Position the Spare-it Scale below a track bin 5. Normal operations When users are putting trash in the bin, the Spare-it Scale will automatically measure the new weight and report the value to the cloud using the LoRa connection. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Warning: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: - Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. - Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Antenna Type: Internal integral antenna Maximum Antenna Gain: 2.9 dBi Conducted Power range: -10 dBm (Minimum) to +10 dBm (Maximum) According to the KDB 447498 D01 v06: Based on the Maximum allowed conducted power of production tolerance was +10 dBm, thus; So; Maximum Conducted Power = 10 mW. The SAR Exclusion Threshold Level: = 3.0 * (min. test separation distance, mm) / sqrt(freq. in GHz) = 3.0 * 5 / sqrt (0.928) mW = 15.6 mW Since the above conducted output power is well below the SAR Exclusion threshold level, so the EUT is considered to comply with SAR requirement without testing.
