Introduction Thank you for choosing a CRANNS disc-lock alarm: the world’s strongest, smartest, loudest motorcycle security solution. Please read this booklet carefully. For more information about this and other CRANNS locks, accessories and product news, please visit www.cranns.com Questions or comments about your CRANNS product? Email us at [email protected] Quick start guide Your CRANNS disc-lock alarm comes with a CR2 long-life lithium battery included. Please install battery before use. Locking your motorcycle • Insert key in lock and rotate clockwise. Lock barrel will spring open. • Locate hole in front brake-disc sufficient to allow locking pin to pass through. • Slide lock on to disc and depress key barrel to insert locking pin. • Double-locking VD10 and VD14: turn key counter-clockwise to lock. • Pushdown VP6: depress barrel until it clicks into place. Fitting your CRANNS to your motorcycle’s brake disc 1. Brake disc thickness: less than 7mm (1/4”) 2. Locking pin size: VP6 6mm (1/4”) VD10 10mm (3/8”) VD14 14mm (1/2”) 3. Distance from locking pin to back of disc slot*: VP6 46mm (1 4/5”) VD10 48mm (1 8/9”) VD14 46mm (1 4/5”) Important: the locking pin can pass through ANY hole on disc (dark areas on diagram). Arming the alarm Your CRANNS Lock is Bluetooth enabled so that connect to your Smartphone and adjust the alarm settings using the CRANNS BLE Lock app available for both Android and IOS. If you do not wish to use the app simply insert the battery as normal and use can use lock as a conventional CRANNS alarmed lock. Using the App 1) Download and install the “CRANNS” App. 2) Insert battery into the alarm module. You will hear a confirmation “beep” once battery is correctly inserted. Replace the battery door. 3) Insert module into the lock and fit base plate. 4) Open the CRANNS App and follow the instructions on the App. Once you have named your device and set a password you can adjust the settings and check your battery status. You can choose the user language in the settings menu. 5) After initial setup up, the Bluetooth connection will only be active once the lock is placed on a disc. If your app is closed or interrupted after setup you will need to place you lock on a disc to reconnect the App. 6) Your CRANNS alarm will be paired to your Smartphone so there will be no need to enter your password once the device is set up. 7) When you remove the battery the password and device will be reset. 8) If you use another device to connect to your lock you will need to enter the password again. 9) You can select the user language in the settings menu. WARNING: CRANNS 120dB alarms are extremely loud! Avoid close proximity to unprotected ears. Battery life • Batteries should last 6 to 8 months with normal use. Frequent triggering or extreme temperatures can shorten battery life. Keys • Each CRANNS lock comes with three keys and a flat plate with a unique code number (ie, CMAA12345678). (ie, 1234567890) for ordering replacement keys. Make a note of your key code and store safely. We encourage you to register your lock at www.cranns.com Register your CRANNS lock On the Flat plate provided, you'll find your lock' unique ID numbers: 1. Key code. You'll need to input both when registering at www.cranns.com Caring for your lock • Use a dry cloth to keep the reflector plate inside the disc-slot clean and free of dirt, dust and grease. An obstructed reflector plate can affect performance and may cause the lock to arm when not on the brake disc. • We recommend applying a lock lubricant to the lock barrel every six months. If alarm is damaged • The alarm module is removable. Replacement modules are available from authorised CRANNS dealers or by emailing us directly at [email protected] NOTE: the lock remains effective with or without the alarm system. Transporting your disc-lock • Ideally you should carry your CRANNS underneath the seat of your bike. • CAUTION: Do not carry your CRANNS in or attach it to your clothing, as this may contribute to injury in the event of an accident.
