HyperCube SE User’s Manual DOn’t Panic! This is your personal guide to your new hyper- dimensional portal device 2 Table of Contents Table of Contents ..................................................................... 2 Safety and Care ........................................................................ 2 Getting Started ......................................................................... 4 What’s in the box?! ............................................................... 4 Powering up ......................................................................... 4 Operation .................................................................................. 5 The Button ............................................................................ 6 The Hyperspace App ................................................................ 7 Setup .................................................................................... 7 Usage ................................................................................ 13 Troubleshooting .................................................................... 19 Warranty ................................................................................ 20 Contact .................................................................................. 20 Tech Specs ............................................................................ 21 German/Deutsch............................................................................... 22 French/Français................................................................................ 41 Dutch/Nederlands............................................................................. 60 3 Safety and Care WARNING – Fire Hazard Keep the HyperCube out of direct sunlight. In rare cases, the mirrors can focus sunlight into a point that could cause burns or risk of fire. WARNING – Keep Dry Keep the HyperCube, and its controller and power supply away from excessive moisture. Water can damage the electronics and cause LED malfunction. Prolonged exposure can lower the lifetime of the LEDs. Our warranty does not cover water damage. WARNING – Electric Shock Risk Do not use or operate the device when wet for risk of electric shock. Hyper-Care The HyperCube is an art piece; while it is sturdy, it is not meant to be handled excessively. Be extremely careful with the mirrors. When cleaning the mirror panels, use only a microfiber cloth and, if needed, lightly soapy water. Clean very gently, without applying much pressure, to prevent damage to the mirrored panels. CE Registration: HK2506203256E 4 Getting Started What’s in the box?!  HyperCube  Control Box  Power Supply Powering up 1. Plug the power supply into an outlet (accepts outlet voltage from 100-240V) and plug the USB cord into the power supply. You may also use any standard cell phone charging block (5V) with your own USB-C cord. 2. Connect the HyperCube cable to the control box. Note the orientation. To unplug, press the tab underneath. 5 3. Plug the USB-C connector into the front of the control box. The button on the control box will turn blue. 4. Let there be light! Operation The HyperCube features 3 modes:  Kaleidoscopic: dynamic, fast, and colorful patterns. This is the default mode (40 patterns)  Meditative: calm, classy and slowed down patterns to help you relax (24 patterns)  Sound Reactive: dance and entrance, with specially designed patterns that respond to the beat. A microphone is located inside the control box (31 patterns) 6 Each mode is essentially a playlist of unique patterns. By default, a pattern plays for 60 seconds before switching. New colors are randomly generated every 10 seconds, for near- infinite variety! This behavior can be fully customized in the app. The patterns and modes can be controlled with the button on the control box. The Button × 1: Next pattern × 2: Change mode: Kaleidoscopic Meditative Sound Reactive Hold (2s): Turn off Hold (10s): Reset WiFi credentials 7 The Hyperspace App Hyperspace Lighting Download the “Hyperspace Lighting” app to fully control and customize your HyperCube! Setup The setup process will connect your HyperCube to your home WiFi network for convenient smartphone control. (NOTE: the HyperCube only connects to 2.4 GHz networks) 1. Make sure the cube is not in sound reactive mode. 2. Open the app and press the “+” icon in the top right corner of the main menu 8 4. Enter your home WiFi credentials and press “Connect!”. All fields are case sensitive. Your phone must be connected to this network Note: if the connection fails, press “Can’t Connect?” at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions. 3. Press “Add New Hyper-Device” 9 5. Accept any permissions and allow your phone to connect to the HyperCube WiFi network channel 6. Wait for the connection process to finish. This could take up to one minute 7. You may go back at any time to re-enter your WiFi credentials or restart the process. Multiple attempts may help in case of failure 8. You’re done - press “My HyperCube” to pilot the controls! 10 Trouble connecting? 9. Refresh: If the connection process finished but the cube isn’t showing up, refresh the device list by swiping down anywhere on the screen 10. Power the cube off and on (fully unplug), then reset the cube’s WiFi by holding the button on the control box for 10s (until the LEDs in the cube flash red then green). 11. Repeat steps 1-7. OR, in step 4 press “Can’t Connect?” at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions. 12. Alternatively: Press “Temporary Connect” on the “+” menu, “Config” in the top right of the device UI, then “WiFi Setup” at the top of the screen.
