6Printing Xerox Phaser 3200MFP6-33 NOTE: •It is necessary to claim swap partition of 300 MB or larger when working with large scanned images. •The Linux scanner driver supports the optical resolution at maximum. Please refer to the scanner and copy section of Specifications. See Scanner and Copier Specifications on page 11-3. Software •Linux Kernel 2.4 or higher •Glibc 2.2 or higher •CUPS •SANE Installing the Unified Linux Driver 1.Make sure that you connect your machine to your computer. Turn both the computer and the machine on. 2.When the Administrator Login window appears, type in root in the Login field and enter the system password. NOTE: You must log in as a super user (root) to install the printer software. If you are not a super user, ask your system administrator. 3.Insert the printer software CD-ROM. The CD-ROM will automatically run. If the CD-ROM does not automatically run, click the icon at the bottom of the desktop. When the Terminal screen appears, type in: If the CD-ROM is secondary master and the location to mount is /mnt/ cdrom, [root@localhost root]#mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom [root@localhost root]#cd /mnt/cdrom/Linux [root@localhost root]#./install.sh NOTE: The installation program runs automatically if you have an autorun software package installed and configured. 6Printing 6-34Xerox Phaser 3200MFP 4.When the welcome screen appears, click Next. 5.When the installation is complete, click Finish. The installation program has added the Unified Driver Configurator desktop icon and Xerox Unified Driver group to the system menu for your convenience. If you have any difficulties, consult the onscreen help that is available through your system menu or can otherwise be called from the driver package windows applications, such as Unified Driver Configurator or Image Manager. Uninstalling the Unified Linux Driver 1.When the Administrator Login window appears, type in root in the Login field and enter the system password. NOTE: You must log in as a super user (root) to install the printer software. Using the Unified Driver Configurator Unified Linux Driver Configurator is a tool primarily intended for configuring Printer or MFP devices. Since an MFP device combines the printer and scanner, the Unified Linux Driver Configurator provides options logically grouped for printer and scanner functions. There is also a special MFP port option responsible for the regulation of access to an MFP printer and scanner via a single I/O channel. After installing the Unified Linux driver (see Installing the Unified Linux Driver on page 6-32), the Unified Linux Driver Configurator icon will automatically be created on your desktop. Opening the Unified Driver Configurator 1.Double-click Unified Driver Configurator on the desktop. You can also click the Startup Menu icon and select the Unified Driver Configurator. 6Printing 6-36Xerox Phaser 3200MFP 2.Press each button on the Modules pane to switch to the corresponding configuration window. You can use the onscreen help by clicking Help. 3.After changing the configurations, click Exit to close the Unified Driver Configurator. Printers Configuration Printers configuration has the two tabs; Printers and Classes. Printers Tab You can see the current system’s printer configuration by clicking on the printer icon button on the left side of the Unified Driver Configurator window. You can use the following printer control buttons: • Refresh: renews the available printers list. • Add Printer: allows you to add a new printer. Printers Configuration button Scanners Configuration button Ports Configuration button Shows all installed printers. Switches to Printer Configuration. Shows the status, model name and URI of your printer. 6Printing Xerox Phaser 3200MFP6-37 •Remove Printer: removes the selected printer. • Set as Default: sets the current printer as a default printer. • Stop: stops the printer. • Test: allows you to print a test page to check if the machine is working properly. • Properties: allows you to view and change the printer properties. For details, see Configuring Printer Properties on page 6-39. Classes Tab The Classes tab shows a list of available printer classes. • Refresh : Renews the classes list. • Add Class... :Allows you to add a new printer class. • Remove Class :Removes the selected printer class. Shows the status of the class and the number of printers in the class. Shows all of the printer classes. 6Printing 6-38Xerox Phaser 3200MFP Scanners Configuration In this window, you can monitor the activity of scanner devices, view a list of installed Xerox MFP devices, change device properties, and scan images. • Properties... : Allows you to change the scan properties and scan a document. See Scanning a Document on page 6-42. Ports Configuration In this window, you can view the list of available ports, check the status of each port and release a port in busy state. • Refresh : Renews the available ports list. • Release port :Releases the selected port. Switches to Scanners configuration. Shows all installed scanners. Shows the vendor, model name and type of your scanner. Switches to ports configuration. Cable were attached to each of the availabl e I/O port. Where applicable, peripherals were attached to the I/O cables. This EUT is supporting the USB, Parallel and Copy printing. In each test mode, finally we found worst case emission that is above configuration with the Worst case components(in the above table). So, the data of the maximum EUT operation, Network printing(duplex mode) was reported. - Operating Mode - Standby Printing Mode - COPY Mode (worst emission) - Test Voltage : 120 V, 60 Hz 1.4 Equipment modifications No equipment modifications were required. Test Report No. : LBE070618 -7/27- 1.5 Test procedure 1.5.1 Conducted emission EUT was placed on a platform nominal size, 1 m by 1.5 m, raised 80 cm above the conducting ground plane. The rear of tabletop was located 40 cm to the vertical conducting ground plane. The rear of EUT, including peripherals was aligned and flush with rear of tabletop. All other surfaces of tabletop was at least 80 cm from any other grounded conducting surface. I/O cables and AC cables that were connected to the peripherals were bundled in center. They were folded back and forth forming a bindle 30 cm to 40 cm long and were handed at a 40 cm height to the ground plane.
