Keyboard (KB-160E) The KB-160E Keyboard is NEXiO S160’s exclusive keyboard which combines functionality and mobility. You may use the external keyboard immediately by attaching it to NEXiO. Also, when on the run, the keyboard can be folded and used as a protective cover for the LCD. Keyboard Overview Attaching/Removing the Keyboard To Attach the Keyboard 1Place the keyboard on top of NEXiO, and then align the guide rib on keyboard with the keyboard hole on the bottom of NEXiO. Power Connector Guide Rib Keyboar Hook Hook Bar 2 Push the bottom of the keyboard down to attach it to NEXiO. 3 The keyboard icon () will appear in the NEXiO task bar. Note You will hear a sound when the keyboard is connected or disconnected from NEXiO. To Remove the Keyboard 1While (a) holding hook bar on keyboard to the right, (b) slide the keyboard toward the bottom side of NEXiO. 2 Keyboard is now disconnected. a b Using the Keyboard Hot KeysExecutes the Calendar, Contact and Messenger pro- grams. Fn KeyAllows you to use the orange keys. Ctrl KeyAllows you to use the green keys. Shift KeyAllows you to type capital letters or the symbols on the upper part of the keys. Note The keyboard will not work when NEXiO’s Hold Button is activated or when the LCD is turned off. NoteDue to the fewer number of keys (53) than a standard keyboard, the fol- lowing features are not supported. We recommend using the software keyboard in the following instances: - The features on a standard keyboard are activated using Ctrl + the arrow keys. Hot Keys Ctrl Key Shift Key Fn Key - Key entry when using the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to activate the PC’s Client terminal. To L o c k Internal Software Keyboard You can lock the NEXiO’s internal software keyboard when using the external keyboard. 1Tap on the extended keyboard () icon in NEXiO’s task bar. "Lock Soft Keyboard" message appears. 2Tap the message. The software keyboard will be locked, and () icon will replace () icon in the NEXiO’s taskbar. 3Tap on this message again to activate the software keyboard. To Keep Keyboard while not in Use Attach the keyboard to the underside of NEXiO when not in use. Turn the NEXiO so its LCD is down, and attach keyboard to the backside. Use the same method explained above. Specifications Total number of keys 53 Size47.6mm * 81mm * 4mm InterfaceSerial
