Users Manual

World Wide Webhttp://www.samsungmobile.com SCH-A220 User’s Manual Printed in Korea No.: GHxx -xxxxxA English.06/2002.Rev.1.0 Please read this manual before operating your phone, and keep itfor future reference. * Some contents in this manual may differ from your phone depending on the software of the phone or your service provider. For more information about RF exposure, please visit the FCC website at www.fcc.gov FCC RF EXPOSURE INFORMATION In August 1996 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and inte rnational standards bodies. The design of this phone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthor ized antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the phone, or resu lt in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged ant enna comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for replacement antenna. Body-worn Operation This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the phone kept 1.5 cm. from the body. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, us e only belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories that maintain a 1.5 cm. separation distance between the us er’s body and the back of t he phone, including the antenna, whether extended or retracted. The use of belt-clips, holsters and similar a ccessories should not contain metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirem ents, and should be avoided. WARNING! Grant Notes
Power output listed is ERP for Part 22 and EIRP for Part 24. SAR compliance for body- worn operating configuration is based on a separation distance of 1.5 cm between the back of the unit and the body of the user. End-users must be informed of the body-worn operating requirements for satisfying RF exposure compliance. Belt clips or holsters may not contain metallic components. The highest reported SAR values are: Part 22 (CDMA mode) Head: 0.75 W/kg; Body-worn: 1.03 W/kg, Part 24 (PCS mode) Head: 1.30 W/kg; Body-worn: 1.10 W/kg
