INTRODUCTION 2.1 General These measurement test were conducted at SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD(SUWON). The site address is 416 Maetan3-Dong, Yeongtong-gu,, Suwon City, Gyeonggi-Do, Korea 443-742 The site have 1 Fully-anechoic chamber and measurement facility. Measurement Procedure The radiated and spurious measurements were made Fully-anechoic chamber at a 3-meter test range (see Figure2). The equipment under testing was placed on a wooden turntable 3-meters from the receive antenna. The receive antenna height and turntable rotations were adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. The substitution antenna will replace the EUT antenna it the same position and in vertical polarization. The frequency of the signal generator shall be set to the frequencies that were measured on the EUT. The test antenna shall be raised and lowered, if necessary, to ensure that the maximum signal is still being received. The signal generator, output level, shall be adjusted until an equal or a known related level to what was measured from the EUT is obtained in the spectrum analyzer. This level was recorded. For readings above 1 GHz, the above procedure is repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic antenna are taken into consideration. Figure1. Courtenay Geraghty Page 1 of 2 Fr o m: Sen t: RT Questions: 1. Regarding the use of cdma2000, filings should be clear about transmitter setup & operation capabilities to ensure devices are configured properly according to communication protocol and operating requirements in order to obtain valid SAR results. Please address the following questions. a. What is the CDMA MS Protocol Revision number? Protocol Rev6 b. Please identify the CDMA Radio Configurations, Service Options, multiplex options, voice/data, code channel combinations and options used for the SAR tests. Tested in only test mode 2. Does the EUT employ EV-DO? If so, body-worn SAR should be repeated in EV-DO (Rev. 0 only) using the CDMA 2000 body-worn channel configuration that resulted in the highest SAR among the various Radio Configurations in this frequency band (that is, just a single SAR test for EV-DO, as a sanity check). If this EV-DO SAR is greater than the highest body-worn SAR in CDMA 2000, perform body-worn SAR for the other 2 channels (among the required H, M, L channels). Note : EV-DO operates independently of CDMA 2000 with different modulation, channel and protocol structures. It is not an integral part (seamless) of the CDMA 2000 structure, but overlays the 1x structure. EV-DO Rev A allows 307 kbps and higher order modulations; therefore, may need additional considerations. The above procedures applies to single band CDMA 2000 1x handsets with built-in EV-DO (Rev. 0) using the same transmit path hardware. Please contact us if the device in question operates in other configurations or EV-DO does not apply to body-worn conditions. Does not support EVDO 3. Please confirm that the following is a typo: the AMPS right head tilt SAR data sheet lists channel 368, instead of 383. We confirm it is a typo Sincerely, Gregory Czumak Quality Manager Senior Certification Engineer PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc. 6660-B Dobbin Road Columbia, MD 21045 410-290-6652 410-290-6654 (Fax) [email protected] This communication and its attachments contain information from PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc., and is intended for the exclusive use of the recipient (s) named above.
