Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to these numbers when you call your Sony Service Center. Model No. COM-2 Serial No. _______________________ WARNING You are cautioned that any changes or modifi cations not expressly approved in this manual could void your authority to operate this equipment. Th is equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Th ese limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Th is equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: – Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. – Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. – Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit diff erent from that to which the receiver is connected. – Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help Th e available scientifi c evidence does not show that any health problems are associated with using low power wireless devices. Th ere is no proof, however, that these low power wireless devices are absolutely safe. Low power Wireless devices emit low levels of radio frequency energy (RF) in the microwave range while being used. Whereas high levels of RF can produce health eff ects (by heating tissue), exposure to low level RF that does not produce heating eff ects causes no known adverse health eff ects. Many studies of low level RF exposures have not found any biological eff ects. Some studies have suggested that some biological eff ects might occur, but such fi ndings have not been confi rmed by additional research. Please refer to the SAR test report that was uploaded at FCC website. Th is device and its antenna(s) must not be co-located or operating with any other antenna or transmitter except Grant condition. Users are not permitted to modify this transmitter device. Any unauthorized change made to this device could void your authority to operate this device. Th is device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Th e supplied interface cable must be used with the equipment in order to comply with the limits for a digital device pursuant to Subpart B of Part 15 of FCC Rules. 3 COM-2.US.3-213-854-11(1) Important Safety Instructions Save these Instructions. Danger To reduce the risk of fi re or electric shock, carefully follow these instructions. For connection to a supply not in the U.S.A., use an attachment plug adapter of the proper confi guration for the power outlet. Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualifi ed personnel only. Th e socket outlet shall be located near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. Th ere is a danger of explosion exists if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Th e battery pack used in this device may present a fi re or chemical burn hazard if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat above 140°F (60°C) or incinerate. Do not short circuit. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Caution Do not use wireless LAN on hospital premises. Doing so may cause medical devices to malfunction. Do not use wireless LAN on an aircraft , as doing so may cause the aircraft 's equipment to malfunction. If using wireless LAN near a pacemaker, make sure it is at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from the pacemaker. Test Report

Test report No. : 28BE0121-HO-02-B-R1 Page : 35 of 119 Issued date : December 3, 2007 Revised date : December 7, 2007 FCC ID : AK8COM2 UL Japan, Inc. Head Office EMC Lab. 4383-326 Asama-cho, Ise-shi, Mie-ken 516-0021 JAPAN Telephone : +81 596 24 8116 Facsimile : +81 596 24 8124 APPENDIX 2 : SAR Measurement data 1. Evaluation procedure The evaluation was performed with the following procedure: Step 1: Measurement of the E-field at a fixed location above the central position of flat phantom was used as a reference value for assessing the power drop. Step 2: The SAR distribution at the exposed side of body position was measured at a distance of each device from the inner surface of the shell. The area covered the entire dimension of the antenna of EUT and the horizontal grid spacing was 15 mm x 15 mm . Based on these data, the area of the maximum absorption was determined by spline interpolation. Step 3: Around this point found in the Step 2 (area scan) , a volume of 30mm x 30mm x 30mm was assessed by measuring 7 x 7 x 7 points. And for any secondary peaks found in the Step2 which are within 2dB of maximum peak (level more than ambient noise (> 0.012 W/kg)) and not with this Step3 (Zoom scan) is repeated. On the basis of this data set, the spatial peak SAR value was evaluated under the following procedure: (1). The data at the surface were extrapolated, since the center of the dipoles is 1mm away from the tip of the probe and the distance between the surface and the lowest measuring point is 1.3 mm. The extrapolation was based on a least square algorithm [4]. A polynomial of the fourth order was calculated through the points in z-axes. This polynomial was then used to evaluate the points between the surface and the probe tip. (2). The maximum interpolated value was searched with a straightforward algorithm. Around this maximum the SAR values averaged over the spatial volumes (1 g or 10 g) were computed by the 3D-Spline interpolation algorithm. The 3D-Spline is composed of three one-dimensional splines with the “Not a knot"-condition (in x, y and z-directions) [4], [5]. The volume was integrated with the trapezoidal-algorithm. One thousand points (10 x 10 x 10) were interpolated to calculate the average. (3). All neighboring volumes were evaluated until no neighboring volume with a higher average value was found. Step 4: Re-measurement of the E-field at the same location as in Step 1.
