Any change to the antenna or the device could result in the device exceeding the RF exposure requirements and void user’s authority to operate this device. This device complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for uncontrolled equipment and meets the FCC radio frequency (RF) Exposure Guidelines in Supplement C to OET65. This device has very low levels of RF energy that it is deemed to comply without testing of specific absorption ratio (SAR). Notice for customers in Canada: Use of Sony wireless devices is regulated by the Industry Canada as described in their Radio Standard Specification RSS-123. A licence is normally required. The local district office of Industry Canada should therefore be contacted. When the operation of the device is within the broadcast band, the licence is issued on no-interference, noprotection basis with respect to broadcast signals. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. The term “IC” before the radio certification number only signifies that Industry Canada technical specifications were met. 3 Remarque à l’intention des utilisateurs au Canada: L’usage des appareils sans fil Sony est réglementé par l’Industrie Canada comme décrit dans leur Cahier des Normes Radioélectriques CNR-123. Please reply to the following items so that we can complete this application. Q1: The application letter indicates that the RM215 module is also included in this product. Is this correct? The module is not visible in the internal photos. If the module is included, please provide photos to show its location in the product. The photos should clearly show the closest distance between the RM215 antenna and UTPX11 antenna, or the distance should be included in your reply. Also revise the UPXP11 label to show the included module FCCID. If the module is not included, please revise the cover letter to remove the reference to the module. Q2: The antenna(s) for this device is not easily identifiable in the internal or external photos. Please provide additional or revised photos showing the antenna(s) and location in the device. Q3: It appears from the user manual that this device is for hand held operation. Please confirm that this device is for handheld operation only with separation between user's body and antenna(s) of more than 20 cm, and that it is not intended for body worn operation. Please add a statement to the user manual advising of the intended use. This item is not required if the RM215 module is not included. Q4: Rated output power and frequency tolerance was not entered in the application form. Please confirm that the rated output power should be 0.0724 W ERP and that the frequency tolerance should be 0.005% Q5: The test report describes the procedure for radiated measurements using a substitution method. Please confirm that the method used was consistent with the methods of ANSI/TIA/EIA-603-B-2002. The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of the original e-mail date may result in application dismissal and forfeiture of the filing fee. For Q1 I am sorry, it was my misapprehension. The RF module(Model No.:RM-215) is not included in this product. I attach the correct document. Please confirm the file "Exhibit A Cover Letter_R". For Q2 I attach the antenna information. Please confirm the file "Exhibit K2 Antenna Location". For Q3 http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&view=bsp&ver=ymdfwq781tpu http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&view=bsp&ver=ymdfwq781tpu (1 of 2)4/10/2008 6:16:57 PM http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&view=bsp&ver=ymdfwq781tpu I am sorry, it was my misapprehension. The RF module(Model No.:RM-215) is not included in this product. Therefore, it is not applicable. For Q4 I tried to enter the rated output power and frequency tolerance on the homepage of the CCS, but I could not enter these values. Could you tell me how to enter these values? And, could you enter to these value? The rated output power is 0.0186W. The frequency tolerance is 0.005% from the operational description. For Q5 I think that the measurement procedure is no problem. For the signatory on the authorization letter is different from contact name in the FCC database. I submit the authorization letter. Please confirm the attached file. This letter is authorization letter to the applicant (Atsushi Sano) in this time from the contact name (Ikuji Abe) in the FCC database. Could you respond by this method?
