American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 August 19, 2002 RE: FUTABA Corporation of American FCC ID: AZPT4YBF-72 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) Please confirm if confidentiality is requested on the Parts List provided. If so, please update the confidentiality letter request to include this. 2) The frequency stability with respect to voltage variations should be performed for this type of device down to the battery operating end point (see 2.1057(d)(2)). This information was not been provided. 3) The crystal appears to be accessible from the outside of the device from the external photographs. This is not allowed. Please see 95.645. 4) Your limits are shown as -27.3 dBm. However 22.4 dBm - (56 + 10 log (0.174)) = -26.0 dBm. Please explain the discrepency. 5) The users manual should have the information from 95.653(2) & (3) added to the manual. Please note that only a portion of the manual was provided and this information may be contained in sections we do not have. 6) There is no emission designator description provided with this application as required by CFR 2.1033(c)(4). Please see 2.202 for examples and instructions. Please provide sample calculations for the necessary bandwidth. 7) Please update the 731 form to include the appropriate information in Section III, Item 6b & 6c. Timothy R. Conducted Maximum Transmitter Power A spectrum analyzer / EMI test receiver was connected to the output of the transmitter power amplifier (conducted measurement) via dummy load while EUT was operating in transmit mode using the assigned frequency. The trace mode of the spectrum analyzer was set to max hold with: RBW = 100 kHz, VBW = 100 kHz, span = 1 MHz, sweep = 20 ms (auto mode) See figure 1 for the measurement setup.
