Interactive Technologies Inc 01/05/01 10:15 AM FCC ID: B4Z-788C-PIR C:\WINNT\Profiles\nelson\Desktop\FCC Documintation\Submittles\A PIR\peices\OP_DESC.DOC Product Description The product is a wireless passive infrared (PIR) motion detector used in conjunction with a wireless security alarm system. When motion is detected the PIR will go into an alarm state. In alarm the unit will transmit an alarm message to the security alarm panel. The panel will then sound its sirens, and call the monitoring station for help. The unit only transmits supervisory signals every hour. This product is the combination of a manufactured Sentrol, a division of SLC Technologies, and the transmitter manufactured by ITI. The microcontroller used is a Texas Interment M430F1121. The RF circuit consists of a 345 MHz oscillator followed by an amplifier. The amplifier is turned on and off to modulate the carrier. EXHIBIT I Operational Description

Lab Measurements Discussion / Test Notes 3.1 Test Notes 3.1.1 Transmissions shall cease within 5 seconds of activation [ §15.231(a)(2) ] In the event of an alarm, 10 packets are sent in the transmission. The packet duration is, at most, 20 mS, see Duty Cycle Correction Factor [§15.231(b)(2) and §15.35(c)]. The time between packets is nominally 90 mS so the length of the longest transmission is: 10*20mS + 9*90mS = 1.01 seconds. The following plot shows a 10-packet transmission that concludes in less than 5 seconds.
