When using a computer, as with many activities, you may experience occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoul- ders, neck, or other parts of your body. However, if you experience symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or stiffness, DO NOT IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS. PROMPTLY SEE A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, even if symptoms occur when you are not working at your com- puter. Symptoms such as these can be associated with painful and sometimes permanently disabling injuries or disorders of the nerves, muscles, tendons, or other parts of the body. These musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) include carpal tun- nel syndrome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, and other conditions. While researchers are not yet able to answer many questions about MSDs, there is general agreement that many factors may be linked to their occurrence, including: medical and physical conditions, stress and how one copes with it, overall health, and how a person positions and uses his or her body during work and other activities (including use of a keyboard or pointing device). Some studies suggest that the amount of time a person uses a keyboard may also be a factor. Some guidelines that may help you work more comfortably with your computer and possibly reduce your risk of experiencing an MSD can be found in the “Healthy Computing Guide” topic of the User’s Guide provided with each software program on your CD-ROM. If you do not have the CD-ROM for this product, you can access the “Healthy Computing Guide” at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/, or (in the United States only) call 1-800-360-7561 to request a CD-ROM at no charge. If you have questions about how your own lifestyle, activities, or medical or physical condition may be related to MSDs, see a qualified health professional. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 July 5, 2002 RE: Microsoft Corporation FCC ID: C3KKB9 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) The Users Manual Contains the following information: Regulatory Information This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules and Industry Canada RSS-210. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. a) Tested to comply with FCC standards. For home and office use. Model number: Wireless Optical Desktop receiver (all models), FCC IDs C3KKB9 and C3KMS9; Wireless Optical Desktop Pro receiver (all models), FCC IDs C3KKB10 and C3KMS9. This paragraph sounds like the FCC ID's are also being applied to the receiver portion of the device. Are the receivers labeled with the FCC ID Number? The receivers should be labeled only with the proper FCC DoC Labeling (Logo, etc.) and NOT with the FCC ID number. The FCC ID number is applicable only to the keyboard portion. Please adjust the information above so that it is not misleading. 2) The test reports states that 3 samples were provided. It is not clear why 3 samples were tested. Please explain. Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

Operational Description

FCC ID: C3KKB9 ADT No.910517R02 Operational Description The transmitter of the EUT (Wireless Keyboard) is powered by 3V Battery. The transmitter use Wire Antenna. The output power of this device is very low. Under normal use condition, the transmitter and the receiver are quite close, so high EIRP power is neither necessary nor allowed because of interference.
