LISTENING TO AUDIO AT EXCESSIVE VOLUMES CAN CAUSE PERMANENT HEARING DAMAGE. USE AS LOW A VOLUME AS POSSIBLE. Over exposure to excessive sound levels can damage your ears resulting in permanent noise- induced hearing loss (NIHL). Please use the following guidelines established by the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) on maximum time exposure to sound pressure levels before hearing damage occurs. 90 dB SPL at 8 hours 95 dB SPL at 4 hours 100 dB SPL at 2 hours 105 dB SPL at 1 hour 110 dB SPL at ½ hour 115 dB SPL at 15 minutes 120 dB SPL Avoid or damage may occur ACHTUNG! 15 Minuten 120 dB Schalldruckpegel vermeiden; ansonsten können Schäden auftreten ADVERTENCIA EL ESCUCHAR REPRODUCCIONES DE AUDIO A NIVELES EXCESIVOS DE VOLUMEN PUEDE CAUSAR DAÑOS PERMANENTES AL OIDO. The possible results of incorrect use are marked by one of the two symbols - “WARNING” AND “CAUT…

Maximum Permissible Exposure calculations The MPE distance will be calculated for the worst case of a 100% transmitter duty cycle. For an isotropic radiator the surface area of a sphere can be used to determine the area over which the transceiver energy is radiated. Surface area of a sphere = 4 * π * radius2 In the case where there is an antenna gain, the worst case energy density is increased by the antenna gain. In this case, the exposure level for a controlled environment can be calculated as follows: MPE distance =((output power*duty cycle*10*(antenna gain/10))/(4* π*Exposure Limit [mW/cm2]))1/2 In the case of 2.15 dBi antenna at 698MHz MPE distance = ((100 mW * 1 * 1.64) /( 4 * 3.14 * 0.47)) 1/2 = 5.3 cm
