Federal Communications Commission Equipment Authorization Division Application Processing Branch 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21045 Subject: Request for Confidentiality for FCC Certification Application Company: Fujitsu Limited Test Sample: Stylistic ST Series Pentablet PC (Ocampa3) installed with a Mini-PCI WLAN module (WM3B2200BG) & Bluetooth (UGXZ5-102A). Pursuant to Rule 47 CFR, Chapter 1, Section 0.457(d)(1)(ii), Fujitsu Limited, requests that prior to the equipment authorization grant for the test sample the entire application be classified and deemed confidential by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and as such be withheld from public inspection. As per 47 CFR, Chapter 1, Section 0.457, the exhibits tendered for the purpose of this grant, contain details of trade secrets and technical data that is not made available to competitors and the general public. This information is treated in a confidential manner by Fujitsu Limited and guarded from disclosure to our competitors. The exhibits outlined below are not routinely made available to Fujitsu Limited, with such access granted only to those specifically involved with this particular project. They contain information detailing the unique technology and circuitry of the product that would be of significant benefit to our competitors. All employees treat this technical data in a confidential manner. The manufacture of this product has taken place after an extensive research and development process that has seen the company invest a considerable amount of time and money. The time and effort taken has enabled the product to meet the specific demands of the competitive market for which it is intended and it would be therefore detrimental to allow competitors easy access to design and development details. Apart from a limited number of employees, the information has previously only been disclosed to the Test House responsible for conducting testing and authorized to act as our agent during the certification process. Pursuant to 47CFR Chapter 1, Section 0.459, Fujitsu Limited requests post-grant confidentiality for the following items, ensuring that this material continue to be withheld from public inspection following the grant. Exhibits: Schematics, Block Diagram, Operation Description, Antenna Information Sincerely Yours,
Response to TCB Findings 1. The peak antenna gain is listed as 2.08dBi in the antenna specifications (first page) and the gain for WLAN antenna is listed as 0.69dBi in the report. Please clarify. [Donna] The peak antenna gain of 2.08dBi is the original antenna manufacturer specification (isotropic gain, when NOT installed in a host). The antenna gain for WLAN Ae is 0.69dBi as listed in the test report is specific for this antenna installed in this particular host. Ideally the first 2 pages are NOT relevant to the submission. Please see attached reviewed Appendix F. 2. The antenna gain listed for the BT radio in the report is 0.12dBi, different from the WLAN antenna. They appaear to be the same antenna in the report. Please clarify the difference. [Donna] The antenna for BT radio used is the Right-Side antenna document. The highest antenna gain of the Right-Side Antenna was 0.12dBi (2.4GHz). Refer to Appendix B3 for antenna location. The antenna for WLAN radio used is the Under-Left antenna (next to WLAN module). The highest antenna gain of the Under-Left Antenna was 0.69dBi (2.4GHz). Both BT (Right-Side) and WLAN (Under-Left) antennas are Monopole Ceramic Chip, Model YCE-5008. As explained in item 3 above, the antenna gains measured are specific for this host and based on their location, the antenna gain is different. 3. The antenna location pictures for both radios show only one of the antenna's location, but not the other. (For example, where does the cable connected to the AUX port of the WLAN go to ? and same issue for the BT radio) Please clarify how the other antenna ports are being used on the modules. If they are used as well, the pictures of their corresponding antenna locations are required. Please clarify. [Donna] WLAN module main antenna port is connected to WLAN mains antenna (Ae next to the WLAN as shown in the photo). The WLAN module Aux Antenna port is connected to WLAN Aux Antenna via Bluetooth circuitry. This is to disable the WLAN Aux Antenna for WLAN transmission when Bluetooth is used. Bluetooth is only connected to the Bluetooth Antenna/WLAN Aux Antenna. There are only 2 antennas in total for both WLAN and Bluetooth operation. Both antennas are shown in the supplied photos.

The FCC ID listed in the SAR report (EJE-WL0008) is different from the rest of the application. Please clarify. This is a typographical error and should read EJE-WB0008. See updated report. Q2 The "Turbo" mode mentioned for 802.11g on Table 2 of the SAR Report has not been addressed in the EMC report or the SAR report itself. Please clarify. There is no TURBO mode for Calexico2 WLAN. See updated report. Q3. In section 2.2.1, the battery model is not listed and in Appendix A3, two battery pictures are shown. Were they both used during SAR testing? See attached report. Both batteries (identical types) were used in the testing. Q4 For conducted peak power measurements at the antenna terminal, please specify the Coax Cable loss (dB). This is needed to make a comparison of the adjusted reading with the EMC report. The cable loss was mentioned in the EMC test report. Q5. Please specify the probe tip diameter. The probe tip diameter is 6.8mm. The probe calibration sheet should also address isotropy error, linearity, frequency response, dynamic range etc. Please supply additional calibration data. See below: ET3DV6 / ET3DV6R ISOTROPIC E-FIELD PROBE FOR DOSIMETRIC MEASUREMENTS Construction Symmetrical design with triangular core Built-in optical fiber for surface detection system (ET3DV6 only) Built-in shielding against static charges PEEK enclosure material (resistant to organic solvents, e.g., DGBE) Calibration Basic Broad Band Calibration in air: 10-3000 MHz Conversion Factors (CF) for HSL 900 and HSL 1800 Additional CF for other liquids and frequencies upon request Frequency 10 MHz to 3 GHz; Linearity: ยฑ 0.2 dB (30 MHz to 3 GHz) Directivity ยฑ 0.2 dB in HSL (rotation around probe axis) ยฑ 0.4 dB in HSL (rotation normal to probe axis) Dynamic Range 5 ฮผW/g to > 100 mW/g; Linearity: ยฑ 0.2 dB Optical Surface Detection ยฑ 0.2 mm repeatability in air and clear liquids over diffuse reflecting surfaces (ET3DV6 only) Dimensions Overall length: 330 mm (Tip: 16 mm) Tip diameter: 6.8 mm (Body: 12 mm) Distance from probe tip to dipole centers: 2.7 mm Application General dosimetric measurements up to 2.5GHz Compliance tests of mobile phones Fast automatic scanning in arbitrary phantoms FCC ID: EJE-WB0008 14 th July 2004 Page 3 of 3 Q7 On Table 21 of the report the antenna listed is called as "B". Is this the same "Main" antenna listed for others? Please clarify. See Revised report. Antenna Main is the used for the WLAN module. Q8 Please provide a justification for the difference noted between the 1g-SAR values on Plots 1 & 8. Why is there a major difference between 802.11g and b 1g-SAR values for the same test position? The average (source based) power of the Calexico module in OFDM mode is much lower than the average power of the Calexico module in DSSS mode this is the reason for the difference.
