This device is in compliance with FCC Part 15, Subpart C and in accordance with Section 15.231. The subject device is a periodic remote control transmitter that will operate within the 384~386 MHz frequency band. This device provides remote control to its associated digital satellite receiver with built-in DVD player, which is being separately being submitted for Certification as TV Interface Device under FCC ID: EW7DVD01. The attached test report for periodic transmitter was tested in accordance with ANSI C63.4-1992 for intentional radiator. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the undersigned. The test setup used to determine the calculation for duty cycle followed ANSI C63.4-1992, Appendix I4 and (10). The test instruments used were bi-log antenna, pre-amplifier, spectrum analyzer and storage oscilloscope. Attached find timing block diagram for test setup. 2. The duty cycly was calculated by averaging the sum of the pulse widths over one complete pulse train. The duty cycle = 2/10.5=0.19, the correction factor = 20*log (duty cycly) =20*log (2/10.5)=- 14.40(dB). 3. The resolution bandwidth used in the past provided bandwidth plot was set at 10KHz. From this plot, we understand sum of the pulse width is 0.8*6+0.5*3+0.8*5+0.5*5+0.8*2+0.5*3+0.8*5+0.5*2 to equal 20.9 msec and the length of the period is 100 msec. As such, the duty cycle is calculated to be 20.9/100 = 0.21. Please advise if this provided plot and explanation is sufficient or should we retest?
