Wireless Mouse User’s Guide Quick Start Guide 1. Installing the Batteries 1. Remove the battery compartment cover. 2. Insert batteries. 3. Replace cover. Battery Warning! Exercise care when handling batteries. Do not open a battery or mutilate, dispose of in a fire, expose to heat, immerse in water, install improperly, or recharge. Conducting materials, such as rings, bracelets, and keys, can short out a battery causing it to overheat and possibly leak or explode. Discard all used batteries according to tlie battery manufacturer's instructions. When you are not using your cordless device for long periods of time, remove the batteries and store them in a dry place at normal room temperature. 2. Connect the Radio Receiver 1. Make sure the computer is turned off. Caution: Plugging or unplugging cables to the computer's PS/2 port while the computer is running can damage the computer. 2. Connect the receiver's cable to the computer's PS/2 mouse port. FCC Compliance and Advisory Statement. This hardware device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and 2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed or used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: 1) reorient or relocate the receiving antenna; 2) increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver; 3) connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to connected; 4) consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Where shielded interface cables have been provided with the product or specified additional components or accessories elsewhere defined to be used with the installation of the product, they must be used in order to ensure compliance with FCC regulations. Canadian DOC Statement. This digital device does not exceed the Class B limits for radio noise emissions from digital apparatus specified in the interference-causing equipment standard entitled "Digital Apparatus." ICES-003 of the Department of Communications. Cet appareil numerique respecte les limites bruits radioelectriques applicables aux appareils numeriques de Classe B prescrites dans la norme sur le materiel brouilleur: "Appareils Numeriques," NMB-003 edictee par le Ministere des Communications. This device complies with RSS-210 of Industry and Science Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) this device may not cause interference, and 2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. Transmitter frequency: 26.995; 27.045; 27.145; 27.195 MHz. Power Output: < lOmV/m @ 3m.

This one should have been made more apparent in the rules. The use of ANSI C63.4- 1992 was implemented in the Report and Order in GEN Docket Nos. 89-116, 89-117 and 89-118. As stated in paragraph 11 of that order, "ANSI C63.4-1992 does not include procedures for measurement of radiated emissions below 30 MHz, or for measurements on spread spectrum transmitters. These two areas present technical issues that are not yet completely resolved. Additional procedures addressing these areas may be added to C63.4 in the future. We note that our proposals did not address such measures. Until such time as specific measurement procedures are developed, we will apply only the general measurement guidance currently contained in Sections 15.31 through 15.35 of the FCC Rules." Similarly, paragraph 7 of this order noted that we were not adopting Sections 5.7, 9, and 14 of C63.4-1992 dealing with the use of the absorbing clamp, relaxation for clicks and the use of the artificial hand. Until such time as the Commission amends its rules, a shielded balanced loop antenna is required for measurements below 18 MHz. It is my understanding that a shielded balanced loop antenna or a calibrated tuned half-wave dipole antenna can be used between 18 MHz and 30 MHz. Above 30 MHz, a calibrated tuned half-wave dipole must be used according to C63.4. I think that the above covers everything. Just in case, I've copied our people at the lab since they're the ones that do the actual testing.
