Date: November 6, 2008 Subject: Request for additional information regarding FCC ID: IHDP56JM1 Reference: Correspondence Reference Number: IHD80846 Confirmation Number: 809090846-8 Date of Original Email: November 4, 2008 Prepared by: Andrew Bachler, Principal Staff Engineer Motorola Mobile Device Business Libertyville, Illinois 60048 Questions and responses follow: 1. Key Features list does not appear to represent the application in question. It shows GSM modes. Please clarify. Response: Please refer to revised exhibit 2 attached. 2. Please clarify about the operations of the secondary PCS/AWS antenna. It is not addressed for EMC or SAR. Response: The "secondary antenna" is receive only, as described on page 11 of the operational description exhibit. 3. Schematics contain an incorrect FCC ID (first character). Please amend. Response: Please refer to revised exhibit 5. 4. Final SAR reading in the Users Manual is incorrect. Please amend to match data given in Exhibit 11 (SAR Report). Response: Please refer to revised exhibit 8 attached. 1 2 5. Please include the SAR result for left cheek using the SNN5782A and SNN5813A battery with the mid and high channels. It appears the SAR may be higher, than what was measured for the other channels. Response: Please refer to revised SAR report attached. We actually did test them at high channel on Left cheek since the high channel had the highest. The SAR data on high channels are reported in the tables on page 9 and 10. 6. Please update band edge markers with values at the limit (i.e. 824 MHz and 849 MHz) in Exhibit 6, page 11. Response: As allowed in 22.917(b), a narrow resolution bandwidth was used to improve measurement accuracy and the measured power was integrated over the full required measurement bandwidth. The markers refer to the adjacent narrow bandwidth channels which are properly aligned to the actual band edges. 7. Schematics indicate AWS band is available. Please clarify for this application. Response: The AWS band is not applicable in this submission. 8. BT plots indicate 22282-1 as the device reference but the report indicates 22299- 1BT. Please clarify for the plots contained in Exhibit 6A1. Response: Motorola confirms that the device reference “22282-1” in the plots is applicable to test report 22299-1BT (Exhibit 6A1).
