I know mine are!). Based on the info provided last week at the Workshop, I am contacting you to let you know that I am currently reviewing an application for a WLL PCS CDMA phone that has CDMA 2000 capabilities. As with most WLL phones that we see, it is designed to replace the phone on your desk (i.e., it sits on the desk, and looks like a regular corded phone- no RF in the handset, just a whip antenna sticking out of the back of the base portion). The lab performed body SAR measurements with a separation distance of 2.5 cm. Is there anything specific for which I should look, given its CDMA 2000 capabilities? Please let me know at your earliest convenience (of course, we are under pressure to finish the review ASAP). I appreciate your time and effort- thank you. Take care. Introduction The Motorola Mobile Devices Business Product Safety Laboratory has performed measurements of the maximum potential exposure to the user of the portable cellular phone covered by this test report. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of this product was measured. The portable cellular phone was tested in accordance with [1], [4] and [5]. The SAR values measured for the portable cellular phone are below the maximum recommended levels of 1.6 W/kg in a 1g average set in [3] and 2.0W/kg in a 10g average set in [2]. For ICNIRP (10g), the final SAR reading for this phone is 0.95W/kg for head adjacent use and 0.54W/kg for body worn use. For ANSI / IEEE C95.1 (1g), the final SAR reading for this phone is 1.50W/kg for head adjacent use and 0.75W/kg for body worn use. These measurements were performed using a Dasy4™ v4.6 system manufactured by Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), of Zurich Switzerland. 2. Power output listed is ERP for Part 22 and EIRP for Part 24. SAR compliance for body-worn operating configurations is based on a separation distance of 2.5 cm between the unit and the body of the user. End-users must be informed of the body-worn operating requirements for satisfying RF exposure compliance. Belt clips or holsters may not contain metallic components. The highest reported SAR values are: Part 22- Head: 1.4 W/kg, Body-worn: 0.75 W/kg; Part 24- Head: 1.5 W/kg, Body-worn: 0.43 W/kg. HAC Rating: M3
