Statements of Certification -- Pursuant to 47 CFR 2.907 2.1. Specification Compliance Transceiver type described herein has been tested in accordance with the requirements contained in the appropriate Commission regulations. To the best of my knowledge, these tests were performed using measurement procedures consistent with industry or Commission standards, and demonstrate that this equipment complies with the appropriate standards. Each unit manufactured, imported, or marketed will conform to the samples tested herein, within the statistical variations that can be expected due to high volume production and test measurement error. FCC Filing Package for Motorola i475-Series Transceiver FCC ID: IHDT56MG1 Motorola Mobility, Inc.; 600 North US Hwy 45, Libertyville, IL 60048, USA WWW.MOT.COM/iDEN Page 1 Date: 7 February 2011 Mr. Jeff Woods Advanced Compliance Solutions, Inc. 5015 B U Bowman Drive Buford, GA 30518 USA Re: Job Number: CB-11-0014 Filing, with FCC ID: IHDT56MG1. Dear Mr. Woods, Motorola Mobility, Inc., 8000 W. Sunrise Blvd; Suite A; Plantation, FL, herein submits its response to your 4 February 2011 request for further information on FCC ID: IHDT56MG1, in relation to Job Number CB-11-0014. Q 1. In the iDEN RF Test Report (Parts 90 and 24 - 1of 2), a frequency of 900.98125 MHz was used to show compliance with the 901-902 (NBPCS) band (Figures 6a.5-3 and 6). This frequency does not fall in the band. Please explain. Response: This was a typographical error. The actual test frequency was 901.88125 MHz. The test report was amended, and is uploaded with this response. Q 2. Per 90.210, the sub-band 806-809 MHz (part of the 800 SMR) is required to show compliance to Mask H. There is no plot in iDEN RF Test Report (Parts 90 and 24 - 1of 2) showing compliance to this requirement. Please explain. Response: The band plan for the spectrum between 806 and 809 MHz has been established for 12.5 kHz channels (47 CFR 209(b)(5)). Mask H is intended for that application. The subject transmitter’s emission is suited to 25 kHz channels (aggregated), and thus the G-Mask is applicable. Q 3. Per 90.210, the sub-band 896-901 MHz (900 SMR) is required to show compliance to Mask J. The iDEN RF Test Report (Parts 90 and 24 - 1of 2) contains plots showing compliance to Mask G for this frequency band (see Figures 6a2.2-1, 2, 5, 6, 9, and 10). Please explain. Response: Like in the above situation, operation of this transmitter in the 900 MHz SMR band is on aggregated 12.5 kHz channels to form a 25-kHz channel. Thus the G-Mask is applicable.
FCC Filing Package for Motorola i475-Series Transceivers FCC ID: IHDT56MG1 Motorola Mobility, Inc.; 600 North US Hwy 45, Libertyville, IL 60048, USA WWW.MOT.COM/iDEN 31 January 2011 Authorization & Evaluation Division Federal Communications Commission Laboratory 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21046 Subject: Application for Certification of transmitter with FCC ID: IHDT56MG1, i475-Series Handsets, with Bluetooth. Gentlemen; Motorola Mobility, Inc.; 8000 W. Sunrise Blvd.; Plantation, FL 33322 herein submits its application for certification of the multi-mode handset with FCC ID: IHDT56MG1. This is a variable output power (0.22 to 691 milliwatts) transmitter that is part of a handheld transceiver used in SMR and EA SMR trunking systems operating within the United States 806-821/851-866 MHz and 896-901/935-940 MHz frequency bands. Operation is also extended for use in a Narrowband PCS system operating in the United States in the spectrum between 901-902/940-941 MHz, on channels which the licensee has aggregated together to form twenty-one 25 kHz operating channels. To facilitate global roaming it is kindly requested that a note be provided in the Grant for Equipment Authorization, which states that this ‘receive first’ type of equipment is compliant for transmitter operation over the broader range 806-825 MHz when used with a compatible Authorized Base Station. This will aid equipment authorization in foreign countries, which accept a United States FCC Grant for Equipment Authorization, yet not jeopardize United States public safety or cellular systems licensed to operate in the 821-825 MHz frequency band since no compatible base station may be authorized on those frequencies in the United States. This radio product is equipped with a Bluetooth (BT) transceiver. BT supports both voice and data for short range wireless communications. The Bluetooth Band of Operation is 2.4 - 2.4835 GHz (1 MHz channel bandwidth). It is a Class 1 type device, with power rated +4 to +10 dBm (typically +8 dBm). The physical location of the Bluetooth antenna is shown in Exhibit 7b. The BT device complies with the requirements of FCC Rule Parts 15.247 (c), 15.205 and 15.209 (b). All transmitters contained in this radio product have been subjected to routine environmental evaluation (as applicable) according to 47 CFR Part 2.1093 (c) for RF exposure and found to be compliant with the limits specified in 47 CFR 2.1093(d)(2). This radio product features integrated GPS and FM broadcast receivers, and is designed to function as a computer peripheral device when functioning as an RF modem, while connected to a computer via a data cable, as described in 47 CFR Part 15.3(r). For these reasons a Declaration of Conformity has been prepared and provided as part of the User Guide (Exhibit 8), as shown on the exhibit cover page. Other information may also be included on this label, and other labels may also be present. Figure 1.3.2. Location of FCC Label (position, orientation, and other information shown may vary). Please note that this label and its placement complies with the requirement of FCC Rule 47 CFR 2.925(d) that the label be permanently affixed to the product, and be readily visible to the purchaser at the time of purchase. Further, at the time of purchase, batteries are shipped in a separate section or compartment of the radio packaging, and are not attached to the radio. In some instances they may be shipped in separate boxes. So, the customer needs to physically install the battery by removing the battery cover, if any, or attach the battery before using the radio. Further, the placement of the label in the battery compartment is done because space is limited on the exterior of the device. The battery compartment also helps to protect the label from getting obliterated or made unreadable through regular handling and use. The product’s Market or Trade Name is indelibly printed on the face of the product, as shown in Exhibit 3. Introduction The Motorola Mobile Devices Business Product Safety Laboratory has performed measurements of the maximum potential exposure to the user of the portable cellular phone covered by this test report. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of this product was measured. The portable cellular phone was tested in accordance with [1], [4] and [5]. The SAR values measured for the portable cellular phone are below the maximum recommended levels of 1.6 W/kg in a 1g average set in [3] and 2.0W/kg in a 10g average set in [2]. For ANSI / IEEE C95.1 (1g), the final SAR reading for this phone is 1.01 W/kg for head adjacent use and 1.02 W/kg for body worn use. Possible modulation formats are QPSK, M16-QAM, or M64-QAM. All voice modes employ M16-QAM modulation and are interleaved as 1:6 (for Dispatch or Interconnect) or 1:3 (Interconnect only). Split 1:3 Interconnect is operated at 16.67% duty cycle, but because there will be two pulses in each 90 ms frame, the overall interleave is 2:6. Data transmissions employ QPSK, M16-QAM, or M64-QAM modulations and have a maximum duty cycle of 67.50% (Packet Data). Packet Data operation is possible with and without connection to an external data device (via data cable or Bluetooth link). All iDEN modes (Interconnect, Dispatch, and Data) are available in both the …
