T PASS 3 Evacuate system technical assis- tance is available by contacting Grace Industries, Inc. at 724-962-9231. The TP3 is designed to be automatically activated into the “Sensing Mode” (motion sensing mode) or turned “ON” when removed from the PASS storage po- sition, whether it is a transportation or a fixed storage position. When removed from the storage position, the tether will tighten and the Accountability Storage Key will automatically pop off putting the TP3 into the Sens- ing Mode. At this point, the unit can be “reset” (from the alarm to the sensing mode) but cannot be turned “OFF” until the Accountability Storage Key is replaced and both side buttons pressed simultaneously. The Accountability Storage Key has an adjustable tether for ease of use. The tether can be adjusted from approx. 3' to 6½’ in length. This allows for easy utiliza- tion whether you are anchoring the tether to a transpor- tation position (such as to a seat in a vehicle) or a fixed storage position (such as in the fire station). Account- ability Storage Keys are available with various length tethers to facilitate various operational needs. The 1998 edition of the 1982 NFPA standard on PASS requires all stand alone PASS to automatically activate into the Sensing Mode (motion sensing mode) when removed from a transportation or a fixed storage posi- tion. The intention is to provide a higher level of safety to the Fire Fighter by insuring the PASS is automati- cally turned ON. Grace Industries, Inc. recommends that TP3 be utilized in a manner consistent with the spirit of the 1998 edition of 1982 NFPA Standard on PASS. 1. To "Reset", press both side buttons simultaneously when accountability key is off unit. 2. To turn "Off", replace accountability key and press both side buttons simultaneously. Front view with key in place TO TURN UNIT "ON" REMOVE FROM STORAGE POSITION ( KEY POPS OFF ) . TO TURN UNIT "OFF" REPLACE KEY AND DEPRESS BOTH SIDE BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY. ACCOUNTABILITY KEY Identification window Tether attached to a fixed position An added benefit of the new Grace system is the Ac- countability Storage Key. The clear Identification Win- dow located on the front of the key provides the oppor- tunity for specific identity of the PASS user through the ability to personalize keys with pictures, names, num- bers, dept. ID, bar-codes etc. The clear access window easily snaps into place to protect the enclosed informa- tion and provide instant access for quick ID should the need arise. Information in the Identification Window can easily be changed by partially popping the ID window out with a small, flat blade screwdriver through the ac- cess slot located on the back side of the key. TESTING ALGORITHM: The EUT powered on up and pressed both side buttons to make the EUT continuous to transmit during the test. The fundamental emissions, harmonic emissions and any spurious emissions within 20dB of the limit are recorded in the data tables. RADIATED EMISSION TESTING: The EUT was tested at a distance of 3 meters. The emissions were maximized by rotating the table and raising/lowering the antenna mounted on a 4 meter mast. Both horizontal and vertical field components were measured. The output of the antenna was connected through a pre-amplifier, to the input of the receiver and emissions were measured in the range 30MHz to 1GHz. The values up to 1GHz with a resolution bandwidth of 120KHz are quasi-peak reading made at 3 meters. The measurements above 1GHz with a resolution bandwidth of 1MHz are peak reading at a distance of 3 meters. Emission limits from 15.249 were used for harmonic and fundamental emissions, 15.205 for spurious emissions. All data for radiated emissions is found in Exhibit VI. CALCULATION OF DATA: RADIATED EMISSIONS – The antenna factors (included cable losses) of the biconical antennas used, and the pre- amplifier gain, are input into the memory of the receiver. The receiver then corrects the reading for amplitude automatically. The field strength reading can then be taken directly from the receiver and compared to the FCC limits in dBuV/m. The following equation is used to convert to uV/m: E uV/m = antilog( E dBuV/m /20 ) Client: Grace Industries, Inc.
