F8Z015P74820 User Manual TuneFM ™ for iPod ® Setup Instructions Introduction Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the TuneFM for iPod. This innovation from Belkin makes it easy to play your iPod tunes through any FM stereo receiver. It plugs into the remote/headphone jack on your iPod. Then, you simply tune your stereo to any clear FM frequency, and enjoy your iPod music anywhere with full sound and fewer wires. Please be sure to read through this User Manual thoroughly so that you can get the most from your TuneFM’s advanced features. 1. Plug the TuneFM into the remote/headphone connector on the top of the iPod. Make sure the iPod device’s Hold switch is in the OFF position. 2. The TuneFM will power on automatically when attached to the iPod and will start transmitting on the last used station. 3. Tune your car or home stereo frequency to a channel with a weak broadcast signal. The ideal channel is one that is not broadcasting a radio program, or is doing so weakly. 4. Press the or button on the top of the TuneFM to match the transmission frequency you chose in Step 3, above. Press and hold either button for fast-forward or backward tuning. 5. To memorize a specifi c frequency (two stations maximum) for easy selection: a. Select the desired frequency using the and buttons. buttons. b. Press and hold the 1 or 2 button for two seconds. The LED display will indicate which memory preset was used by showing a P1 or P2. By repeating these steps, the previously saved frequency will be overwritten by the next entry. 6. To recall a station, tap the 1 or 2 button. The display will show the previously stored frequency. 7. Adjust the volume on your iPod to a medium level. 8. Adjust the volume of your FM radio to the desired listening level.* 9. Setting the Hold switch on the back of the TuneFM prevents the station adjustment buttons from activating. The LED display momentarily displays “HLD” to indicate the Hold switch has been activated. NOTE: The TuneFM’s Hold switch does not affect the iPod device’s controls. For Best Results: • Try to keep the TuneFM close to the antenna of your FM radio. While the TuneFM often works at distances of 30 feet or more, a distance of 10 feet or less minimizes interference and provides the strongest signal. *Due to characteristics of FM transmission, you will experience better sound quality by adjusting the volume on your home or car stereo when necessary, and by leaving your iPod or other portable music player volume set at a medium level.
