It integrates a low power NFC controller. The ISM43341 includes integrated power amplifiers, LNAs and T/R switches for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WLAN bands, which greatly reduces the external part count, PCB footprint, and cost of the solution. It is connected to the Polycom RealPresence Trio solution by a 40-pin flexible cable and is mounted with two machine screws. Comprehensive power management circuitry and software ensure the system can meet the needs of high mobile devices that require minimal power consumption and reliable operations. PCB Integration SDIO/I2S/UART Interface/Connection to Motherboard The RealPresence Trio radio module PCB employs a 40-pin flex circuit socket to connect to a motherboard 40-pin flex circuit cable. This interface is for the 3.3 VDC and 1.8Vpower sources and all necessary data lines to communicate with the radio module. Mounting The radio module has two mounting holes. The module should be placed down and fastened onto a motherboard containing two standoffs with metal screws. At the same time, the 40-pin flex cable connector will be engaged by locking the flex connector. Antenna The 2.4GHz/5GHz radio module PCB antennas are mounted permanently for WiFi/BT operation. No external WiFi/BT antennas are allowed. The NFC antenna loop is connected via a two-pin locking connector. Only the Polycom NFC antenna loop or equivalent is allowed. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: ●This device may not cause harmful interference. ●This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. ●Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the users authority to operate the equipment User Information This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, can cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: ●Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. ●Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. ●Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. ●Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This module is limited to OEM installation ONLY. The OEM integrator is responsible for ensuring that the end user has no manual instructions to remove or install the module. The module is limited to installation in mobile or fixed applications according to Part 2.1091(b). Separate approval is required for all other operating configurations, including portable configurations with respect to Part 2.1093 and different antenna configurations. The user’s manual or instruction manual for an intentional or unintentional radiator shall caution the user that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. LE-LAN devices are restricted to indoor operation only in the band 5150MHz to 5250MHz. July 31, 2015 Timco Applications Examiner RE: Modular Approval for Polycom FCC ID: M72-P008 Dear Application Examiner: Regarding Part 15 Unlicensed Modular Transmitter Approval, the following requirements called out in FCC Public Notice DA 00-1407 are observed: 1) The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding. This is intended to ensure that the module does not have to rely upon the shielding provided by the device into which it is installed in order for all modular transmitter emissions to comply with Part 15 limits. It is also intended to prevent coupling between the RF circuitry of the module and any wires or circuits in the device into which the module is installed. Such coupling may result in non-compliant operation. The Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module is a completely self contained radio which has its own RF shielding on the RF section. No other RF shielding is required or implemented. 2) The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or overmodulation. The Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module is a completely self contained radio which modulates its own RF transmitter. It controls the data flow to the transmitter section compliant with Part 15 requirements. 3) The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. This is intended to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements regardless of the design of the power supplying circuitry in the device into which the module is installed. The module itself has a self-contained power regulator. It will supply only 3.3 VDC to the Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module. 4) The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). The antenna must either be permanently attached or employ a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). Any antenna used with the module must be approved with the module, either at the time of initial authorization or through a Class II permissive change. The “professional installation” provision of Section 15.203 may not be applied to modules. For this application the Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module employs a permanently attached antenna or has a unique antenna connector only. 5) The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing. This is intended to demonstrate that the module is capable of complying with Part 15 emission limits regardless of the device into which it is eventually installed. Unless the transmitter module will be battery powered, it must comply with the AC line conducted requirements found in Section 15.207. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module must not contain ferrites, unless they will be marketed with the module (see Section 15.27(a)). The length of these lines shall be length typical of actual use or, if that length is unknown, at least 10 centimeters to insure that there is no coupling between the case of the module and supporting equipment. Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during testing shall be unmodified or commercially available (see Section 15.31(i)). The module itself was tested while connected to Host Board or Laptop. The Host Board and Laptop was provided as a means to communicate with the radio through the serial connection. Nothing on the Host Board or Laptop contributes to the performance of the radio, therefore the radio is considered to have been tested in a standalone configuration. 6) The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “Contains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. The Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module consists of a printed circuit board, which is labeled with the FCC identification number. This PCB can be mounted in a host of devices and each device that this PCB utilizes will have the FCC ID number visible to the consumer. 7) The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. For example, there are very strict operational and timing requirements that must be met before a transmitter is authorized for operation under Section 15.231. For instance, data transmission is prohibited, except for operation under Section 15.231(e), in which case there are separate field strength level and timing requirements. Compliance with these requirements must be assured. The Polycom model Polycom P008 SIP Application module comes equipped with embedded firmware that controls these parameters. 8) The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements. For example, FCC Rules in Sections 2.1091, 2.1093 and specific Sections of Part 15, including 15.319(i), 15.407(f), 15.253(f) and 15.255(g), require that Unlicensed PCS, UNII and millimeter wave devices perform…

Detailed description of test facility was submitted to the Commission and accepted dated July 07, 2015 (Registration Number: 90661) 5.2 EQUIPMENT Radiated emissions are measured with one or more of the following types of Linearly polarized antennas: tuned dipole, bi-conical, log periodic, bi-log, and/or ridged waveguide, horn. Spectrum analyzers with pre-selectors and quasi-peak detectors are used to perform radiated measurements. Conducted emissions are measured with Line Impedance Stabilization Networks and EMI Test Receivers. Calibrated wideband preamplifiers, coaxial cables, and coaxial attenuators are also used for making measurements.
