It includes an LED temperature display and 4 capaciฦve touch buฦฉons to control temperature setpoints and heaฦng/cooling/fan modes of operaฦon from the thermostat. Homeowners can remotely, via the Carrier Home app, set temperature as well as set daily/weekly programmable schedules with 4 comfort profiles โ home/sleep/wake/away. The Smart Thermostat offers a simplisฦc, smartphoneโlike feel and easy snap on/snap off removal from the backplate thanks to its patentโpending design. HOW TO CONNECT IN 3 EASY STEPS CONTRACTORS 1. Download and open the Carrier Service Technician App from the App Store or Google Play. 2. Select Connect to Equipment and then Smart Thermostat. 3. Follow the guided thermostat configuraฦon instrucฦons . HOMEOWNERS 1. Download the Carrier Home App from the App Store or Google Play and create an account 2. Select Add New Device and then Smart Thermostat. Follow the guided setup instrucฦons to connect to your WiโFi network. GET TO KNOW YOUR NEW CARRIER SMART THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS Power This Thermostat is powered by 24VAC only. It requires 24VAC (Rh and/or Rc and C terminals) of the lowโ voltage transformer to be connected to it for proper operaฦon. It will not operate without these 2 connecฦons. Rh and Rc are connected via the shunt jumper (see Fig. 1). For applicaฦons using two 24VAC transformers, one in the indoor unit and one in the outdoor unit, remove the shunt jumper (Fig. 1). Connect the common from each to the C terminal. Connect R from the indoor unit to the Rh terminal. Connect R from the outdoor unit to the Rc terminal. The W signals are taken from the Rh power and the Y signal is taken from the Rc power. If Thermostat has been installed in a twoโtransformer applicaฦon that is later changed to a singleโtransformer installaฦon, installer must install a field supplied jumper between Rc and Rh. Fig. 1 โ Shunt Jumper Accessory Output and Connecฦons This thermostat is equipped with a dry contact output for the management of humidifiers, dehumidifiers and venฦlaฦon equipment. The 2 terminals are both labeled as ACC. The dry contact output must be configured for the management of either one of them. Venฦlaฦon/ERV/HRV Funcฦon will be acฦvated for the % on ฦme configured, using a cycle rate of 1h. For example, if it is set to 50%, funcฦon will be acฦve for the first 30min and inacฦve for the next 30min. If the difference in temperature is larger than the defined max indoor/outdoor temp delta, the funcฦon will never acฦvate. If the outdoor temperature is not available, the thermostat will sฦll follow the percent on ฦme, disregarding the max delta parameter. Humidifier Control will be based on a setpoint (which will trigger the acฦvaฦon of the funcฦon) and a preโdefined hysteresis of 5% above the setpoint. If humidifier with acฦve heat opฦon is selected, the humidifier will only be acฦvated when the heat is running, regardless of the humidifier setpoint. Dehumidifier Control will be based on a setpoint (which will trigger the acฦvaฦon of the funcฦon) and a hardcoded hysteresis of 5% below the setpoint. If dehumidifier with fan opฦon is selected, the dehumidifier will only be acฦvated when the fan is running, regardless of the dehumidifier setpoint. INSTALLATION โ CAUTION UNIT DAMAGE HAZARD Failure to follow the recommended wiring pracฦces could result in damage to the wall control and personal property. Improper wiring or installaฦon may damage the thermostat. Check to make sure wiring is correct before proceeding with installaฦon or turning on power. Installaฦon Notes: ๏ท No part of the Thermostat should be installed directly outdoors or in a cabinet outdoors. ๏ท Never remove the thermostat board from the plasฦc housing. Doing so could warp and damage the components on the board. ๏ท The mounฦng plate should be mounted to the wall before wires are aฦฉached. ๏ท During thermostat installaฦon, provide sufficient excess wiring behind the mounฦng plate.
