Page 4 Headset Overview LED Status Light Volume Down Micro USB Charging Port Power On/Off Bluetooth Multifunction Volume Up Page 5 Raptor Use The Walkers Raptor can be used two ways. Enhancement Only Worn alone, the Raptor can provide amplified hearing as needed along with the Bluetooth functions. When used this way there is NO NOISE PROTECTION. DO NOT OPERATE THE RAPTOR IN THIS METHOD WHILE USING A FIREARM. Enhancement & Protection To utilize the Raptor as an Enhancement & Protection device you will need to use a set of the included foam plugs or any other form of in the ear hearing protection. Simply fit the plugs as directed. The Raptor will provide the enhancement & Bluetooth functions via bone conduction while the foam plugs protect hearing from load noises such as gunfire. Page 6 How to Properly Fit the Raptor Raptor should only be worn after foam plugs have been properly fitted. See page 7 for how to properly fit your plugs. 1. Place Raptor on head so that it wraps over your ears and both pads rest on your temples. Note: Raptor should not sit inside the ear. 2. For best audio quality, both pads should make direct contact with the skin on your temples. Obstruction from hair, glasses, or other headware may reduce sound quality. 3. Once your Raptor is fitted, the headset should fit comfortably over your ears, applying a light pressure to your temples. Page 7 How to Properly Fit Your Foam Plugs Your Raptor does not provide hearing protection on its own. Foam plugs must be properly worn to ensure hearing protection from gun shots and other loud noises. Step 1: Compress the foam plug by rolling between your fingers until it becomes malleable. Step 2: Quickly insert the foam plugs into the ear canal as deep as it is comfortable to wear. Step 3: Hold in place for 10 seconds to ensure plug expands and seals in the ear canal. NOTE: Your ear plugs should form a complete seal, blocking out sound. This is critical to achieve the highest NRR Rating and protect your hearing. Outside noises should be significantly reduced. If not remove the plugs and perform step 1-3 again until a good seal is made. Page 8 Device Function Power On Device: Press and hold power button for 2 seconds. Raptor will play an audible “Walker’s” cound clip to indicate the unit has powered on. NOTE: When Ambient volume reaches minimum there will be a double beep. When Ambient volume reaches maximum there will be a double beep. Charging the device: Open the Micro USB Connector cover, plug in a Micro USB cable, then plug the other end into a USB power source or adapter. While the device is charging the LED will remain constant red. When fully charged the device’s LED will turn blue. Note: To pair the Raptor to a new device, press and hold the power button from an off state for 7 seconds. This forgets the previously paired device. Raptor will confirm by stating audibly “Pairing” and the LED with flash red and blue. Page 9 Power On Device: Hold the power button on your Walker’s Raptor for 2 seconds to power on the headset.
