CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION FOR N-300 CARD READER The Transmit circuit in the N-300 Card Reader is a basic Colpitts type oscillator operating at 125 kHz. This transmission is a continuous square wave emission. The ID cards transponders programmed with an ID code. When the card is presented to the reader, the oscillator in the card is powered and excited with the 125 kHz square wave. The card subsequently emits its ID code for the reader to verify. The card is a purely passive circuit on its own.
