Model SAB01 5. Equipment Category BT Unit 6. Background The SAB01 BTU module is a gateway unit, which links together the 2W Handlebar switch/ vehicle meter and Drive-mode application. It allows the user to interact safely with their smartphone device contents while driving. The equipment shall be installed under the motorcycle saddle and the minimum distance between the antenna and the motorist shall be 20 cm. Drive-mode is an application installed on the end user smartphone device that shares device contents with the vehicle. SAB01 BTU module in combination with Drive-mode allows receiving incoming call, read phone and mailing status, and provides navigation guidance to the user on the vehicle meter. 7. Product overview SAB01 BTU module acts as a communication medium between 2W Handlebar, Audio/ Cluster & Mobile phone. The SAB01 BTU shall be connected over BTLE with Mobile phone APP & hardwired connected to Handlebar & Audio/ Cluster. BTU Application Software is the propriety item of Honda and shall be available on Playstore once the vehicle with blue tooth feature is launched in Market phase wise 8. Vehicle Configurations for BTU Module There are two configurations available for 2-Wheeler. 8.1 BTU module operation via Speedo assembly Operating BTU module via Instrument cluster/Meter assembly with optical display (having option of HMI for BTU Mode selection & for executing other steps). 8.2 BTU module operation via Handlebar switch Operating BTU via switch on Handlebar, BTU module getting activated by keeping switch pressed for 10 seconds approximately. 9. How to operate BTU unit-Configuration wise 9.1 Configuration 1 activation steps:- Turn Vehicle IGNITION ON -> Meter Assembly gets ON Go to MENU Option on Meter Assembly On MENU Option , Select BLE RESET option on Meter display (Entry into device discoverable mode) Open the Drive Mode Application on smartphone (Bluetooth option in the mobile phone has to be enabled and the current time and date has to be set in the phone ) Go to Blue tooth device Scanner option in Drive Mode Application (Suppose if the Honda SAB Unit is not listed, you have to navigate into the native page and start the pairing process with discoverable devices being listed ) Select Blue Tooth Unit by selecting device name as defined by Honda Pairing process shall initiate automatically between Blue Tooth Unit (SAB) and Mobile through Drive Mode Application.
