Before you begin installation, take the following steps: 1. Replace your timer’s battery so that your sprinkler times are saved. 2. Make sure your timer is set to your high season settings – those settings when your sprinkler times are longest. 3. If your timer has a “Water Budget” or “Seasonal Adjustment” feature make sure it is set to 100%. Detailed Installation Instructions: 1. After disconnecting the power to the timer, attach one of the BLACK wires from the WaterDex Receiver to each of the timer’s power terminal’s (typically labeled 24VAC). The BLACK wires can be connected to either terminal in any order. 2. Remove the wire(s) from the timer’s terminal marked COMM or Common and connect either one of the BLUE wires from the WaterDex Receiver to this terminal. 3. Using the supplied wire nut, connect the wire(s) removed from the COMM or Common terminal to the second BLUE wire from the WaterDex Receiver. Again, the BLUE wires can be connected in any order. NOTE: The GRAY wire is an antenna and not connected to the timer. 4. Installation is now complete and power may be reconnected to the timer. The LEDs on the WaterDex Receiver will briefly flash in an alternating pattern. 5. To pair the WaterDex Receiver to the Remote Control, press the recessed button at the bottom of the Receiver. The Receiver’s Green “Link” LED will flash indicating that it is ready to be paired with the WaterDex Remote Control. 6. Remove the back cover from the WaterDex Remote Control and install two “AA” batteries. The LED on the Remote Control will flash for 10 seconds while connecting to the WaterDex Receiver. The “Link” LED on the Receiver will remain solidly lit when successfully paired. 7. The WaterDex Remote Control transmits the watering setting whenever the dial is moved. The LED will flash for 10 seconds while transmitting. If the LED continues blinking rapidly, this indicates low battery. Log on to www.WaterDex.com and enter your ZIP code to get your local setting.
