KG Theresienstraße 8 74072 Heilbronn Germany www.beyerdynamic.com 3 MMX 230 wireless EN SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS � Please read these safety instructions carefully and completely before using the MMX 230 wireless. � Please observe all instructions given, especially those concerning the safe use of the MMX 230 wireless. � Please also observe the detailed operating instructions for the MMX 230 wireless. You can download the instructions from the beyerdynamic website at www.beyerdynamic.com/p/mmx-230- wireless � Do not use the MMX 230 wireless if it is defective. Intended use � Only use the MMX 230 wireless as described in this product manual. The company beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG accepts no liability for damage to the MMX 230 wireless or injury to persons caused by careless, improper or incorrect use of the MMX 230 wireless, or by use for purposes not specified by the manufacturer. � beyerdynamic is not liable for damage to USB devices that do not comply with the USB specifications. � beyerdynamic is not liable for damage resulting from connection interruptions due to batteries being empty or too old, or due to exceeding the Bluetooth® transmission range. � Please also observe the relevant country- specific regulations before using the MMX 230 wireless. Adjusting the volume High volumes and long listening can permanently damage your hearing. � Before putting on the MMX 230 wireless, set the volume to minimum. Only increase the volume afterwards. � When listening and speaking normally with the MMX 230 wireless, your voice should still be perceptible. � In case of tinnitus, decrease the volume. If necessary, consult a doctor. � Excessively high volumes and long listening times may cause hearing damage. � As a rule of thumb, the higher the volume, the shorter the listening time. Damage from liquids Liquid penetration can damage the MMX 230 wireless. � Make sure that no liquids penetrate the MMX 230 wireless (e.g. when cleaning). � Do not use solvent-based or aggressive cleaning agents. Risk of swallowing � Keep small parts, such as packaging and accessories, away from children and pets. They constitute a choking hazard if swallowed! Using the batteries Danger from heat, water and mechanical stress Excessive heat, water and mechanical stress may cause explosion, heat, fire, smoke or fumes. Injuries and irreversible damage to the battery may result. � Do not expose the battery to excessive heat, fire or extremely low air pressure. There is a risk of explosion, fire, smoke or gas. � Do not subject the battery to mechanical stress (e.g. crushing). � Do not open the housing or remove the battery. � Only use a USB 2.0/3.0 standard-compliant 5 V power supply to charge the battery via the integrated USB Type-C port. Storing the battery � If the battery is not going to be used for an extended period, set the charge level to approximately 50 % of the maximum capacity and store it at temperatures up to max. 30 °C. Charging � Disconnect the USB connecting cable from the charging unit once the device is fully charged. Environmental conditions � Do not expose the product to rain, snow, liquids or moisture. 4 MMX 230 wireless DISPOSAL This symbol on the product, in the operating instructions or on the packaging means that electrical and electronic devices must be disposed of separately from household waste at the end of their life cycle. � Always dispose of used equipment in accordance with applicable regulations. For sale within the EU only: � For the return of old equipment, batteries and rechargeable batteries, there are free collection points or a free return to beyerdynamic, as well as other acceptance points for reuse. The addresses are available at the local city or municipal administration. � Dealers for electronic equipment are generally obliged to take back waste electrical/electronic equipment free of charge. Disposal of batteries � Dispose of batteries separately after use from the product in accordance with applicable regulations. They must not be disposed of in household waste. The return is free of charge for consumers/end users. � Before disposal, discharge the battery. CAUTION: For this product a non-destructive removal of the battery by the end user is not possible. Please contact beyerdynamic or consult independent professional staff. The properly removed battery must be disposed of in a container intended for this purpose with tape put on the terminals; do not dispose of it with household waste or municipal waste. � You will find instructions for changing the battery at the end of this compliance booklet. The minimum amount of solder can lead to damage from the stresses caused by the difference in coefficients of expansion between solder, chip and substrate. The terminations are suitable for all wave and re-flow soldering systems. If hand soldering cannot be avoided, the preferred technique is the utilization of hot air soldering tools. Recommended temperature profiles for re-flow soldering in Figure 1. Products attachment with a soldering iron is discouraged due to the inherent process control limitations.
