The transmitter is not capable of being reprogrammed by the station operator using external controls. Under software control the transmitter reverts to receive mode after 5 minutes uninterrupted transmission. A warning is then shown on the LCD display. The RAY 240 has a DSC facility in accordance with Part 80.225 Part 80.207(a), (b) and (d) The RAY 240 is designed to include classes of emission for DSC in accordance with 80.225. The DSC is modulated by an audio frequency. The RAY 240 classes of emission are 16K0G3E and 16K0G2B Part 80.225(a) and (c) The DSC function meets the requirements of CCIR Recommendation 493 for equipment class D. It cannot be used with the sensors referred to in 80.179(e)(2). The RAY 240 DSC has been designed to comply with the relevant parts of 80.225(c). The radio is a fixed station type and is intended for leisure marine and small workboat use. The RAY 240 comprises three units; a Control/Transceiver Unit, a Handset with Cradle and an Active Speaker. The RAY 240 has been fully tested to the appropriate parts of CFR 47 Parts 2, 15 and Part 80. The measurement taken demonstrates that the radio to be compliant with the rules and the performance is within the technical ratings specified by Raymarine (manufacturer). With reference to FCC Form 731, Item 14, please insert the following text at the bottom of the Grant of Equipment Authorization: Output is conducted at the antenna terminals. The antenna used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 1.5 meters from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Users and installers must be provided with antenna installation instructions and transmitting operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.
