Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference. 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. 1.2 Introduction The CE-T001 is a battery-powered module of a wireless system that makes use of a miniature video camera and a tiny transmitter. It is one sensor in a set of remote surveillance tools that have been tailored to the specific requirements of the law enforcement community. These tools will increase operational efficiency and enhance situational awareness by providing remote observation. 2 CHAPTER 1. DESCRIPTION Chapter 2 Power Management 2.1 Battery Selection The CE-T001 video transmitter uses three standard 1.5-volt AA size batteries. The following types of batteries are acceptable: 1. Alkaline 2. Nickel-cadmium rechargeable 3. Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable 4. Lithium For longest and best performance, we recommend Energizer lithium batteries (No. L91BP-2). 2.2 Battery Installation * Warning! Make sure that unit is turned off before opening battery compartment. * 1. Remove battery compartment cover by undoing screws and lifting off the cover. 2. Remove dead batteries and install new ones. Be sure to observe proper polarity (+ and -) as marked on the battery holder. See figure 1. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover and screws. 4 CHAPTER 2. POWER MANAGEMENT Figure 1 Rear profile of CE-T001 Chapter 3 Operation 3.1 Turn ON/OFF 1. Turn on the power by toggling the switch to the ON position and vice versa for turning the unit off. 2. Position the CE-T001 video transmitter as desired. 3.2 Trouble Shooting If the CE-T001 video transmitter fails to operate check the following: 1. Inspect batteries to substantiate if they have been installed properly. 2. Verify whether batteries have a charge. 3. Confirm unit is switched on. Return unit to the manufacturer if difficulty persists. 6 CHAPTER 3. OPERATION

Operational Description

CE-T001 Transmitter – Description of Circuit Diagram and Antenna The video camera used in the transmitter is powered via a step up DC-DC converter, which transforms the 4.5-volt DC source voltage to a 9-volt DC source. The NTSC video signal from the camera is amplified using a video amplifier and linked to the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) by means of the modulation coupling. The VCO is modulated with the video signal and controlled by way of the PLL (phase lock loop). The PLL uses a reference oscillator (crystal) and a micro controller to monitor the VCO’s frequency through a feedback network. The feedback network compares the phases of both the crystal and the VCO at a lower loop frequency and ultimately biases the VCO via a loop filter and a buffer amplifier to the correct fundamental frequency. The fundamental frequency passes through an attenuator and a filter to ensure signal integrity and proper broadcast level. Further, the fundamental frequency is amplified and filtered before connected to the antenna. Lastly, the unity gain omni-directional antenna is permanently attached with an electrical connection (soldered) for transmittal.
