The module allows the remote identification of people, places and things. The RA-T411-02 module is installed alone into an enclosure. The module is designed to reside inside a commercially-available OKW Minitec ES enclosure (shown below in the two possible configurations) (measuring approximately 5cm x 3cm x 1.5cm) which allows easy attachment to a keyring, clip or strap. For some applications, a custom enclosure may be required, for instance to facilitate attachment to a specific type of object. Custom enclosures will typically have similar size, materials and construction. The RA-T411-02 module's transmitter functionality serves to periodically transmit short messages containing several bytes of information: a unique identifier and optional sensor data or challenge responses. The receiver functionality serves to periodically listen for short messages containing instructions or a challenge. For many applications, the receiver functionality is permanently disabled in firmware. For almost all applications, the module's transceiver is disabled more than 99% of the time.
