monitors the pressure and temperature of a car’s tires. If the pressure or temperature of one or more tires changes from the reference pressure, the system alerts the driver with a flashing indicator light and warning bleeps. T h e system allows for normal changes in tire pressure caused by fluctuating temperatures. Pressure Watch helps the driver to ensure that the correct tire pressure is maintained, thus enabling prolonged tire life and reduced fuel consumption. Data from the tire sensors located in the tires is transmitted to the receiver via radio waves. NOTE! PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS IN THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY 2 Warnings 1. READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS USER’S MANUAL AND ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS IN IT BEFORE USING THE PRESSURE WATCH SYSTEM. OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE IN A MANNER INCONSISTENT WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS MANUAL CAN CAUSE TIRE DAMAGE, ACCIDENTS AND SERIOUS BODILY INJURY. 2. THE PRESSURE WATCH SYSTEM ACTIVATES ONLY AFTER THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN M…

The purpose of the performed tests was to see if in regard to these tests the EUT fulfils the EMC requirements defined in the FCC 47 CFR Part 15, Subpart C, Class B (1994). The tests were performed according to the test specifications CISPR 22 (1997) and ANSI C63.4-1992 by using accredited test methods. 2.System Configuration 2.1Test set-up Equipment under test (EUT): • RoadSnoop Tyre Pressure Monitoring Device, type: RSPW-01, S/N: - - - The RSPW-01 consists of four tyre pressure / temperature sensors, RSPW-01T and one receiver unit, RSPW-01R. Operating voltage of the EUT: •RSPW-01T: 3V DC battery •RSPW-01R: 3.6V DC battery 2.2Operating conditions and monitoring of the EUT One transmitter was installed inside a test tyre. The air pressure of the test tyre was within the normal pressure range. The remaining three transmitters were installed on the surface of the test tyre. Hence, three sensors indicated low air pressure. The test tyre was installed to a motor axle and the motor was turned on. The speed of rotation of the tyre was approximately 600rpm. RSPW-01T transmits temperature and pressure information using radio frequency of 433.92MHz. RSPW-01R decodes the transmitted radio frequency signal and indicates the pressure level of each tyre in its user interface. Appendix 3 of Test report: 1031681 Page 1 (3) Date 04.07.2003 1. Measurement of the fundamental frequency, 15.231 (e) Frequency Level (PK) Polarization Antenna height Table angle Limit (AV) [MHz] [μV/m] [HOR / VER] [m] [degrees] [μV/m] 433.92 23713.7 HOR 2.11 311 4399 In accordance with Section 15.35(c) when the radiated emissions limits are expressed in terms of the average value of the emission [as in Section 15.231(b)(2)], and pulsed operation is employed, the field strength shall be determined by averaging over one complete pulse train, including blanking intervals, as long as the pulse train does not exceed 0.1 seconds. ANSI C63.4-1992 Appendix I4 (10) also describes a method, which is used here to correct for duty cycle when average detector function limits are specified for a pulse-modulated transmitter, the average level of emissions may be found by measuring the peak level of emissions and correcting them with duty cycle. The duty cycle is the value of the sum of the pulse widths in one period (or 100 ms) divided by the length of the period (or 100 ms). Calculation of the final result: In this application, the peak detector field strength in μV/m of the emission from the transmitter is multiplied by the duty cycle calculated to determine the average detector field strength of the emission for comparison to the average detector limit in Part 15.231. The RSPW-01T tire sensor transmits 2 packets of data with each packet length 8.5 ms within 100 ms every 13.6 seconds. So, typically 2 packets in 100 ms period with a total packet length of 17 ms in 100 ms. The transmission itself is OOK (On Off Keying) and the data is Manchester coded with 50% duty cycle. So, the transmitter total on time in 100ms is 8.5ms (8.5 ms + 8.5 ms = 17 ms total packet length at a 50% duty cycle = 8.5% / 100 ms). Now, the peak detector field strength in μV/m of the emission from the transmitter is multiplied by the duty cycle calculated above to determine the average detector field strength of the emission for comparison to the average detector limit in Part 15.231. Ö 23713.7 μV/m x (8.5% duty cycle) = 2015.7 μV/m calculated average detector field strength. The level of all harmonic components up to 10 th harmonic was at least 20 dB below the maximum permitted fundamental level. 2. Transmission duration time limits, 15.231 (e) The RSPW-01T tire sensor transmits 2 packets of data with each packet length 8.5 ms within 100 ms every 13.6 seconds. Test set up The measurements reported in the test report 1031681 have been performed with the transmitter installed inside the rubber wheel with plastic structure. This was due to the fact that the transmitter does not transmit if it is stationary. The measurements reported in this Appendix 1 have been performed with the modified transmitter, which transmits even if it is stationary. No rubber wheel has been used, see the pictures 2 and 3.
